Aye. The thought occurred to me to submit an article calculating, say, the energy released during the Flood into the atmosphere, or the energy released by AiG's claimed continental drift, and end it by praising God for the miracle.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Great idea! You could run a "were Noah and family toast?!" hijack, but revert to praising God in the end and I bet those fundies wouldn't even notice

Put it this way, the energy released from the water condensation alone is enough to heat the world by a low end figure of 430 odd degrees kelvin. That is a drop in the bucket compared to the total energy release from say... the water releasing 90% of its potential energy as it falls...

Maybe you could go about how they couldn't have enough food aboard the Ark, but then Noah asked and God provided and so this water-heat thing caused all those drowned people and animals to be boiled in water - turning the ocean around the Ark into a giant soup. Nutritious and delicious!

yeah, only if you can eat molten rock. The amount of energy released by the water's potential energy is equivalent to an imperial base delta zero

Actually if you go to FSTDT.com there are a lot of quotes where people think Noah's Ark was a spaceship.

This just proves that it's impossible to exaggerate fundie insanity

Their own special category: incest! All the articles in the journal site only other articles in the journal, and are sited only by later articles in the journal.

Anyway, I'm thinking it might be time for a Creationist Sokal Hoax. Who's with me?
Only one serious problem I can see with that. The postmodernists were impenetrable. Even to themselves, they could not understand what the hell was written in their journals, so Alan Sokal had a pretty easy time writing a paper laced with hilarity.

Fundamentalists are just stupid. Anything that we would consider a satire on the level of the Sokal Hoax, they would actually support!

In a participatory democracy where people tale their churchin' real serious-like, and vote based upon what they hear there, and on average have a poor basic science education, stuff like this has the potential to do a lot of damage.

Aren't morons like that already in the creationist camp anyway?
