When some of us went over to voice our personal opinions of you (on their own perrogative I might add), you attacked them like the pack of ravening orcs you were. And then you traced their IP address back here and started acusing US of sending "trolls" over there! You violated the sanctity of our board with baseless acusations.
Nice, eh? The thread starts by saying that we've actually been surprisingly fair to them, and swiftly turns into "those SD.net people are a bunch of snarling orcs". But remember: we're the rabid ones; they're sugar and spice, everything nice

Wong himself?: Did you read his Myths and Essays lately? Full of polemics! In my eyes someone who wants to take a discussion seriously does not have to rely on polemics, rather than on facts. I do not have the skills to take part in a math combat, however I think I have a good knowledge of the Trek universe. His essays for example lack a lot of them.

1) The idiots did come over here first, and posted a shitload of rehashed arguments coverend on teh site nad went off about us when people responded with "Read teh fucking site" and any other cussing
2) They said they were from EAS, I never had to trace it. They fucking bragged about it
3) For posting for them to reign in the trolls attempting to launch a forum invasion, something that is a task for any responsible mod, I was told that if I posted again they would file a cease and dessist order. And I was told that by another peon poster, not a mod.

Thats not how I read it everyone wants him to tout his Phd because they feel Wong uses his degree to act like king of the hill however he specifically states that he thinks a 12 year old is on equal footing when it comes to this hobby.
Wong doesn't "flaunt" his engineering degree. He relies on his engineering degree is knowledge to accurately compare and contrast, through scientific method and empirical analysis, the Star Wars vs. Star Trek situation.

My degree actually has some usefulness because I apply many of those principles in the way I analyze things. I don't know what the fuck his degree is in, but it's obviously not an analogous situation since he makes no attempt whatsoever to rationalize anything in any remotely scientific manner.

I'm sure when he had his debate with your he gave his view on how to analyse Sci-fi (or thats the impression I get, I could be wrong) and that is he seems to be against the kind of exacting detail that Vs debate usually entail (frame counting etc) so as far as he is concerned a 12 year old would have valid input.
I suspect they want him to tout his PhD because they feel they need some kind of bludgeoning instrument to say they're right and we're wrong. And I suspect he doesn't want to do it because whatever his PhD is in, it's not remotely applicable to the subject at hand, and he knows it would look stupid to bring it up.
After that E-mail exchange and his bizarre assertions that field-based technologies are necessarily perfect (among other inanities such as his "big fireplace" dismissal of all SW propulsion), I am convinced that either he's nuts or he has no scientific and technical knowledge whatsoever.

Not going into exacting frame counting detail is valid to a certain extent (especially considering alot of the sites interest lies in the history and politics of ST).
