Or, what would happen in Mad Max happened in Scotland?

I know Frankie Boyle is going to say this is what Glasgow always looks like when he next does stand-up.

Just in case anyone is ruddy daft: The above is sarcasm. :P Although it looks fairly decent for a popcorn flick.

BWAHAHA! Oh my god, the movie is hilarious.

Lemme see, it's Mad Max, Resident Evil, Escape from New York, 28 Days Later, and I am Legend all rolled into one. And it has Bob Hoskins in it. When you have Bob Hoskins playing the G-Man, you know you're in for tons of fun.

Have a very nice day.

What's the big ornate building in the wide shot, halfway through? I thought it was the City Chambers, but it's not; the City Chambers doesn't have those columns in the centre. I think I've seen the building before, but I can't quite put a name to it.

"No. I think I'd find it a bit small and wierd."
"Aren't they dangerous? Don't they get hit by stuff?"

The fail is strong with this one. That railer made me laugh out of sheer amazement at the drivel that filmakers try to shovel down our throats.

It had me mildly interested until they shoved a car commercial down my throat.

The only thing that can save this is if Rhona Mitra gets inviso-raped by Kevin Bacon.

Why do they have to send people in? Don't we have satellites with cameras that could have fucking pinpointed where these people are to begin with?

Is it possible that this premise could be negated by Google Earth?

The virus ate Google Earth. True story.

Pfft. Surely logic dictates that combining elements from good movies makes one AWESOME movie. Duh.

I hope Marshall isn't selling out. Dog Soldiers and The Descent were brilliant and not lowest common denominator cliché bullshit, as is so common now.

Man I thought you guys were kidding.

It's not just so bad it's funny, it's hilarious. The Resident Evil part was hilarious, the Underworld part with the closeup shot of her ass was even better, but then Celine opens up the truck and what's there...

*Cleveland* Oh, that's nasty *Cleveland*

Anyone newly arriving on this thread I advise you not to watch this trailer, it contains potentially dangerous levels of fail.

Bentley GT. Bond doesn't drive that, never has. Though he did use Bentleys in the novels.

Otherwise, yes, this seems to be a mish-mash of various mindless action/horror movies lately.

It's like they tried to make an abominable Meet the Spartans mash-up parody film, then decided that comedy writers would cost too much, and opted to make a live-action crossover fanfic instead.

It's certainly not going to be a cinematic masterpiece, but it looks like, if nothing else, it will be good for a few laughs, and the action looks like it might be decent. Also, I like Rhona Mitra. So I'll watch the movie just for her, and if it turns out that the movie isn't absolute crap, that'll just be a bonus.

This is going to be either epically bad, or awesomely epically bad. If it's the second, then it'll go down for future generations like ZARDOZ or Killer Condom as something to initiate newbies with.

ZARDOZ is an insane British movie movie staring Sean Connery about a post apocalyptic Earth in which Six Shooter armed men in speedos and Bandoliers who hate Penises and worshiping a giant floating stone head created by imortal people that go about shooting people.

The penis is evil. The penis shoots seeds, and makes new life, and poisons the earth with a plague of men, as once it was. But the gun shoots death, and purifies the earth of the filth of brutals. Go forth and kill!.

The idea of quarantining the whole of Scotland fills me with mirth. Escape from Braveheart?
"what huge and loathsome abnormality was the Sphinx originally carven to represent? Accursed is the sight, be it in dream or not, that revealed to me the supreme horror - the Unknown God of the Dead, which licks its colossal chops in the unsuspected abyss, fed hideous morsels by soulless absurdities that should not exist" - Harry Houdini "Under the Pyramids"

"The goal of science is to substitute facts for appearances and demonstrations for impressions" - John Ruskin, "Stones of Venice"
