Yeah, I'd love to see what self-serving bullshit this will be spun into.Mange wrote:TFN has advertised a survey which can be found through here:

The survey takes awhile to be submitted but my opinion is in nonetheless.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Not bad, although it seems like the survey is skewed to make the EU look worse than it is--with the replies I have, I ended up with an average score of only 4.85, which is lower than I'd rate the EU as a whole.
They shouldn't have mixed up ratings of actual items (novels and comics as a whole) and ratings of specific plot points. The results are skewed because while the selection of the novels seemed balanced--some (but not all) of the best, such as Zahn's stuff, and some (but not all) of the worst were included, they chose more of the worst plot points than the best. As such, a lot of the bad stuff counted twice--for instance, I think that the return of Palpatine is among the worst plot points in all of fiction, much less the SW EU. Since the Dark Empire series centers on that, it also got a low rating, although it does have redeeming features.
Also, failure to include any games skewed the rating down, since the Dark Forces series, KOTOR, and the fighter games are better than the EU overall.
If I was doing it, I would have the items and plot points in two separate surveys.

They need fill in the blanks for these kind of things; a comments section in addition to the "scale of 1 to 10"

I have no doubt the "only 3 million clones in the GAR" will get poor scores, overall. Definitely not a preponderance of scores over say, 4 or 5.

Me too. I added my opinion in, as well. Hopefully our combined responses will have some benifits for us poor EU readers.Vympel wrote:I have no doubt the "only 3 million clones in the GAR" will get poor scores, overall. Definitely not a preponderance of scores over say, 4 or 5.
