I have no problem with you saying religion is stupid. I'm not going to try to dictate what you should think. I was just curious as to why you seem to think someone must be non-religious to base their observations about the world on the scientific method (I may have this interpretation totally wrong, hence my asking about it). If you want to just belittle my question, that's fine, I guess it's to be expected. I'm just trying to understand your point of view.Darth Wong wrote:Gotta love the way people always try to twist any anti-religious comment into some kind of imagined persecution.
"Religion is stupid."
"Oh yeah? Who says I can't be stupid if I want to? Huh? YOU? Don't you oppress me!"

Thinking about it, I would go with a variation of Wong's. Some schizophrenics sincerely believe God talks to them and I don't like loopholes. E.g. an acquaintance of mine had a husband who went into depression because God was lying to him.

I don't think that's what he was at all saying. I think he said nothing about the religious being able "to base their observations about the world on the scientific method", just that they don't apply this to their belief of God.NomAnor15 wrote:I was just curious as to why you seem to think someone must be non-religious to base their observations about the world on the scientific method (I may have this interpretation totally wrong, hence my asking about it).
If The Infinity Program were not a forum, it would be a pie-in-the-sky project.
