Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World for the Wii
I'm (poetically) on the Wii, so I can't copy any info, but it's using a battle system evidently used in Tales of the Abyss, and map navigation is done with a point and click system. Symphonia characters appear, but no word on if they're playable. Monsters can be caught and tamed to assist the main character.
Edit: spelling and Abyss, not Eternia

A sequel for Tales? That's kind of odd; the storyline pretty much resolved itself in the original Tales, with mostly just cleaning up to do in the world thereafter.

This is very cool. One thing I've liked about most of the Tales series is how they've allowed you to play two-player in at least the battle sequences, so I played through both Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss with my brother, and loved them both (although I thought Abyss had a better storyline and characters).Qwerty 42 wrote:I didn't want to make a new topic, sorry for the necro:
The game now has a United States name and a tentative 2008 release date. It will be coming out as Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
I hope Tos:Dawn has that two player capability. At the very least, I hope it continues off of where Abyss took the fighting system - where you actually fight the battle in complete 3D, and can run around enemies and the like.
There's some previews on Youtube. The 3-minute one in Japanese looks pretty cool, especially the intriguiging part about Lloyd possibly being the antagonist, and fighting the main character.

Well, kind of. It's apparently a "You saved the world, now deal with the consequences" type thing. Apparently, there's a divide between the people from Sylvarant and the more advanced people of Tethe'alla. A Sylvarant faction called the Vanguard has rebelled against the church of Martel, and in the conflict, Palmacosta was destroyed(again). The church blames Lloyd, who's still out gathering the Exshperes, on the incident, and doesn't confirm or deny it.Guardsman Bass wrote:A sequel for Tales? A few details:
Lloyd appears as a boss battle at least once in the game.
Collete is undertaking one final Journey of the Chosen, in the hopes for solving at least some of the problems of the world, and is targeted by the Vanguard because of it.
Zelos is alive.
Genis joins the new main characters at some point.
Presea has started growing again.
Regal has taken the shackles off.
