Obama using "sexist language"

Well, if you have a stick up your arse and actively go looking for every least little thing, then Obama's speech can be interpreted as being sexist according to the following logic:

"claws come out" = trying to claw opponents eyes out as per stereotypical hysterical harridan. Alternatively, reference to a catfight, especially when used by men as a derogatory term.
"periodically when she's feeling down" = reference to PMS and periods and implying that she is depressed because of such and/or because she's a woman. Never mind about the obvious facts of biology like her age.
"trying to boost her appeal." = an obvious reference from Obama that Hillary is trying to use her feminine wiles and is somehow lacking character appeal and sex appeal and that she is somehow desperately trying to boost them and that all of that is insidious lies designed to make her look bad.

And all these bullshit accusations coming from her camp actually tell a lot more about the people making them than about Obama. Now, could somebody please help me get my dislocated brain back in place? Protracted attempts at employing that kind of non-logic make my mind hurt...

Wow, when someone says "periodically" he's automatically talking about menstruation? I knew math was sexist, but I didn't realize that something as basic as trigonometry and the sine and cosine functions were so blatantly anti-woman.

But before turning the meeting over to his number-crunchers, our voluble governor weighed in on the primary fight between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama and what the Illinois senator could expect from the good people of Pennsylvania at the polls:

I know I have a habit of sometimes zoning out in these meetings, but it sounded to me like Mr. Rendell had unilaterally declared Pennsylvania to be Alabama circa 1963. Was he suggesting that Pennsylvanians are uniquely racist in ways that folks in the states Mr. Obama has won so far aren't? By the way, Mr. Obama won Alabama on Super Tuesday, thank you very much!

What accounts for Mr. Rendell's overweening confidence that, no matter what, he'll always find a way to overcome the odds by at least 17 points even in a racist commonwealth, but that Mr. Obama can't?

If Mr. Rendell, a Clinton backer, is right about Pennsylvania's racial attitudes, maybe we should get a new state slogan. How about: "You've got a friend with a pointy white hood in Pennsylvania"?

Randi Rhodes had a good reply to this on her show today, namely that the people who won't vote for Barack Obama because of race wouldn't be voting for any Democrat.
In other words, white cracker bigots wouldn't vote for HRC either.

Seems like the comments on that article are pretty evenly split, at least the first few.

I admit I don't know why the choice of words was "when she's feeling down" instead of "when she's behind in the polls", but "periodically" is just another word for regularly and I don't see anything there.

are they insane? how is commenting on someone stiking out when "feeling down" sexist, I do it all the time, as it was said so many years ago by Bill Watterson "nothing helps a bad mood like spreading it around" and the claws comment? yes I know a few feminists who would find that offensive, but you know what? I honestly couldn't care less. alot of femminists today struggle and fight so that they are seen as just another man, and then when no one ever dates them they bitch us out and demand to know why. guys can't win against femminists, so I have declared my intentions to stop trying and just ignore them. I would like a woman president, but if the;r name is Clinton, Bush, or spears they can go jump of a cliff because I'd rather vote a chimpanzee into office.

Which is pretty nasty considering that the Black vote in places like Philadelphia probably had a big push for getting that tubby asshole Rendell in office in the first place. Nice to see he's left his city behind.

I'm wouldn't be so sure about that. PA may be a different story because it's fairly white & conservative down the middle of the state and Black & Democrat on the ends, but we've already seen in places like California where large groups of non-Black minority voters are turning towards HRC -- I seem to recall it being discussed in one of the threads around Super Tuesday that there is some serious widespread racial animosity between Latinos and Blacks, and Asians and Blacks, and that this be affecting the vote. And in this thread I've been seeing a lot of racist bullshit from gay folks in my community against Obama, and they're all voting for Hillary.
