That's disgusting, criminal, and an abomination to the common good. If I subscribed to USAToday, I'd be unsubscribing right now.
Stuart: The only problem is, I'm losing track of which universe I'm in.

Cue Davros: "Now you shall know fear!" There was a similiar article in Macleans a while back on the HPV vaccine and that it was bad it was becoming standard to give to girls in school. The usual stuff: too many vaccines, untested and a smattering of other fear mongering tactics. I asked my GP about it, his response: "it's all horseshit".Cairber wrote:USA Today ran this ad last week:

My cousin just called me to ask me if there is really "antifreeze" in vaccines.
M1891/30: A bad day on the range is better then a good day at work.

According to people who saw it, the ad was a full page in the A section of the newspaper.
I have been searching all day and I see no evidence that there is antifreeze in vaccines. It's just claimed on a bunch of anti vaccination websites....I did find a blog trashing the ad and talking about the antifreeze claim:
http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=9
But that's about it.

Nice to know dumb rich people desperate to have someone explain their kids' problems are willing to donate to such charlatans: Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, you should be ashamed.

Jenny McCarthy was on American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest a few weeks ago. All she talked about was how her kid's autism was from his vaccines.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Nice to know dumb rich people desperate to have someone explain their kids' problems are willing to donate to such charlatans: Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, you should be ashamed.

Sounds bad when you say it that way, not so bad when you say 'under one percent'.Raesene wrote:Also, 1 of 150 children develops autism in 2008 ?LadyTevar wrote:WTF Is that, other than a freakin' SCARE TACTIC?!?!Cairber wrote:USA Today ran this ad last week:

They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Doctors are diagnosing it more often these days, which accounts for most (if not all) of that huge increase.Raesene wrote:Also, 1 of 150 children develops autism in 2008 ?LadyTevar wrote:WTF Is that, other than a freakin' SCARE TACTIC?!?!Cairber wrote:USA Today ran this ad last week:

In slightly related news, diagnosis of demonic possession has gone way down since the 1500s.

73% of all statistics are made up, including this one.
I'm waiting as fast as I can.

That was my suspicion too. Nevertheless epidemologists/psychologists will be looking at that very closely.SCRawl wrote:Doctors are diagnosing it more often these days, which accounts for most (if not all) of that huge increase.Raesene wrote:
