Personally i only use the "xxxPunk" thing because, it's short-hand. It's easier than typing out "retro-furtistic gaslamp fantasy" or some convoluted shit. It's even worse now that you have people like Dale Brown and Tom Clancy writing "tencho-thrillers". You mean a SPY novel...yeah, Flemming did those too, with a guy may have heard of called James Bond. It's fairly obscure.

If i had my way, we'd have "SciFi" and "Fantasy" to cover most of these things, and maybe "Thriller". But i like things simple so what do i know.
