No it's not playing, it's studying.Alyeska wrote:Hell, I spent over 500 dollars on E-bay to get the Star Trek Micromachines. And you know what? Please it's playing...
Same thing we all do with action figures and stuff(though some of the rare bits...)
Still wonder if they'll ever make more.

Yeah I can use replacements...mostly because my cats have found them to be fun toys...and I usually can never find where they hid them.

My collection of SW micro machines somehow ended up with about 8 million millenium falcons. I don't knowhow that happened.
Fortunately I still Have my Executor, thats a cool micro machine.

Yeah no kiddin...I've had to save pratically my entire collection when I got them as kittens...now I just put most into a tupperware box, and only keep the Executor out because it's in a spot where I can see it.
Still I want to find my Enterprise as well.

Only the coolest toys ever! Little tiny versions of my favorite SW ships are there. my peronsal favorites: Executor, ISD, DSII, and Mon Cal cruiser, which unfortunatley isn't colored, only painted in silver.ArmorPierce wrote:Micromachines?
And I proudly admit that I still do play with them from time to time. Coolest little buggers on the planet. I wish they would remake the old ones, I really want a new TIE Fighter, as my old ones wing panels have fallen off.
That being said they're great fun! They got ST ones too.

Get yourself some Testor's brand acrylic Flat white, and some flat black, mix desired shade of light grey! I repainted my Tantive IV, works great. When they came out with that new formula several years ago, my model building skills increased a great deal.Darth Garden Gnome wrote:Only the coolest toys ever! And super-glue those pesky wing panels on.
My biggest problem with their products are the some times warped nacelles etc. You can dip them in hot water, bend to desired shape, and place them in the freezer, but this is a stop-gap measure that isn't 100% effective. My Millenium Falcon has a decided U effect in the hull when viewed broadside.

All grand ideas, I was never much of a do-it-yourself-er as you can tell, but for my beloved micro-machines I think I can make the exception. Thank you.Frank Hipper wrote:Get yourself some Testor's brand acrylic Flat white, and some flat black, mix desired shade of light grey! I repainted my Tantive IV, works great. Anyone else join the Star Wars fanclub? I did way back in the day when i was like 9. Best thing about it was that I got 2 special edition micromachines. One was the Millenium Falcon with the Han Solo miniature, all in a commemerative box. The other was an ISD with Darth Vader. I am proud to say that they are still in the unopened box, even though i was only 9 when i got em! I also got the 'pewter' Star Trek micromachines gift set. It had alot of the TOS and TMP era ships in it (Klingon Bird of Prey, Ent-nil, Ent-A, Stargazer, Romulan Bird of Prey, etc.). Anyone know if those are worth anything?

Frank, my condolences on the damage of your proud IKF B'Rel. Perhaps the rat should be chewed back for punishment?
One thing I have never understood. I have friends that keep all their Sc-fi toys and stuff still in their boxes as 'collectables'. For me, they are toys and need to be played with. Its torturous to see some SW or ST stuff in pristine condition, never to be touched.
Im weird, I know

hey, dont get me wrong, I play with that junk still! i had a HUGE collection of micromacines. I think about the same way about people and 4WD vehicles. I mean, if you want to get a 4wd vehicle, use the friggen 4wd in it! I hate to see these little prissy frat boys riding around in daddys suburban 4WD with the lift kit and it will never be taken off road. I mean, every 4WD vehicle my family and myself have owned has been put to good use, not just for the looks.

The rat got the bath she richly deserved. Nothing like warm, soapy water to punish a rat. And I disagree most strongly. They are tools to be studied.pellaeons_scion wrote:Frank, my condolences on the damage of your proud IKF B'Rel. Perhaps the rat should be chewed back for punishment?

Serves her right
I guess your right, they have to be studied intensely...and often...and put through rigorous trials and tests, and fondled and caressed.....
(ahem) got a bit carried away there..um yeah..*goes and pla..er studies his ISD and hides from that cruel world of reality*

I think I have all the ST micromachines. I doubled up on some because I bought the 3 ship packages first but had to buy the large collector's boxes to get all the Enterprises. I think I have two or three normal Galaxy class Enterprises. The first one doesn't have saucer seperation but I know the later one(s) did. I like the "All Good Things" Enterpirse a lot. Voyager is also a good model with moveable nacels.
I was a bit disappointed that the last boxed set focused so much on all the nobody ships that Voyager had run into while I would have preferred a few more Dominon ships.
I also have the "complete" set [18] of Babylon 5 micro machines. Too bad that one never carried on past it's small number of sets.
