The basic design that is now being marketed as the AA-12 has been around for something like 30 years, and they’ve only made a couple prototypes in all that time. Automatic shotguns suck. They lose most of the ability of being able to use different ammo loads that is the cherished reason for having shotguns in the first place.

The AA-12 is even worse because it requires proprietary ammo to work at all. Most successful automatic shotguns, like the SPAS-12 and SPAS-15 only managed to be successful because they also incorporated to ability to function as a pump action gun and they didn’t try to deliver ultra high rates of automatic fire. AA-12 doesn't have an option for pump action and can fire one type of ammo, no one will ever buy it.
