Crackpot secular political cults

Post by Battlehymn Republic »

What are your favorite fringe groups/ideologies in politics? Yes, they often have the characteristics of religions, but I'm looking for groups that aren't primarily Christian or Scientologist or what have you.

Lyndon LaRouche's supporters pass pamphlets on my campus. They're funny, because they call Dick Cheney and Al Gore fascists. And posit that everything is controlled by an evil Anglo-Dutch empire and their Zionist allies.

Also, I have a newfound appreciation for Ayn Rand's Objectivism ever since I found out what a campy, pulpy joke it is.

I’ve always found the New World Order freaks to be amusing as hell.

I love the smell of September in the morning. Once we got off at Richmond, walked up to the 'G, and there was no game on. Not one footballer in sight. But that cut grass smell, spring rain...it smelt like victory.

Dynamic. When [Kuznetsov] decided he was going to make a difference, he did it...Like Ovechkin...then you find out - he's with Washington too? You're kidding.

I don't think anything can possibly be more crazy than the supply-side economists. Oh wait, they're not considered a "fringe" movement, are they?

The Maoist Internationalist Movement. Disliked even by their fellow far-left microparties, and want to turn America into "one big gulag".
