Hils Attacks by Mocking African Culture

Post by Coyote »

Hillary is the diving bell of US politics; she's dingy as hell and there's no depth to which she would not sink.

Dear God, say it ain't so!

Apparantly, Obama visited Kenya and dressed in local fashion while he was there; after all he has familial roots in the region.
Photo of Obama causes stir on Internet
Circulation of photo from Kenya visit may constitute smear

ASSOCIATED PRESS
Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., right, is dressed as a Somali Elder by Sheikh Mahmed Hassan, left, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya, near the borders with Somalia and Ethiopia in August 2006.

updated 12:01 p.m. MT, Mon., Feb. 25, 2008
WASHINGTON - A photograph circulating in the Internet of Democratic Sen. Barack Obama dressed in traditional local garments during a visit to Kenya in 2006 is causing a dustup in the presidential campaign over what constitutes a smear.

The photograph portrays Obama wearing a white turban and a wraparound white robe presented to him by elders in Wajir, in northeastern Kenya. Obama's estranged late father was Kenyan and Obama visited the country in 2006, attracting thousands of well-wishers.

Circulation banter
The gossip and news Web site The Drudge Report posted the photograph Monday and said it was being circulated by "Clinton staffers" and quoted an e-mail from an unidentified campaign aide.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe immediately accused Clinton's campaign of "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election."Obama's foreign policy adviser, Susan Rice, said the circulation of the photograph was divisive and suggests "that the customs and cultures of other parts of the world are worthy of ridicule or condemnation."

The Clinton campaign did not comment on the distribution of the photo, but campaign manager Maggie Williams said the Obama campaign's reaction was inflaming passions and distracting voters.

"Enough," Williams said in a statement. "If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Honestly, this reeks of the GOP's efforts to paint Obama as an evil Manchurian Candidate, not Hillary's consistant 'Nothing there! Just nice talk! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!!' tack.

It could be another backfire from the Clinton camp. Of course, considering that the source of this report is Matt Drudge, it is not inconceivable that Drudge is acting as the agent-provocateur in this situation with the aim of creating a split among Democratic voters.

You know , as the sludge gets worse and worse, I have a feeling we might be seeing more of this:

Clintonite Stabs Obama Supporter
FEBRUARY 25--Meet Jose Antonio Ortiz. The Pennsylvania man allegedly stabbed his brother-in-law in the stomach after the pair quarreled about their respective support of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. According to cops, Ortiz, 28, stabbed Sean Shurelds last Thursday night in the kitchen of an Upper Providence Township home. According to a criminal complaint, a copy of which you'll find here, the 41-year-old Shurelds, an Obama supporter, told Ortiz that the Illinois senator was "trashing" Clinton (apparently in regard to recent primary and caucus results). Ortiz, a Clinton supporter, replied that "Obama was not a realist." While not exactly fighting words, the verbal political tiff led to some mutual choking and punching. And, allegedly, a stabbing in the abdomen. Ortiz, pictured in the mug shot below, was charged with a felony aggravated assault count and two misdemeanors and jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail. Shurelds was flown to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition
I dont know whether to laugh or cry
"Of course, what would really happen is that in Game 7, with the Red Sox winning 20-0 in the 9th inning, with two outs and two strikes on the last Cubs batter, a previously unseen meteor would strike the earth, instantly and forever wiping out all life on the planet, and forever denying the Red Sox a World Series victory..."

Oh, she's had about twelve by my count so far.

But if it's utterly consistant with the 'MUZLIM RADICALIST SOCIALIST COMMIE COMING TO KILL YOU ALL' frothing of the Right, I'm inclined to go with that. This sort of racism and nonsense has been slung for a while.

I'm almost certain it's the McCain camp putting it out there knowing that Clinton is the likely suspect. They get to be racist cunts while not looking like racist cunts. Not that I'd put it past the Clinton camp.

It looks to me like whoever put it out was hoping to accomplish not racial tensions, but rather the Michael Dukakis tank-driver or the John Kerry 'Oompa Loompa Suit' effect.

That could be so, considering how everyone's ready to believe that Clinton is capable of doing anything at this point against Obama. It's an impossible scenario, but wouldn't it be wild if someone from the Obama camp deliberately posted these pictures just so people would attack the Clintons further?

This is going to be a pretty dangerous attack regardless of who it came from, because its almost guaranteed these are going to start getting lumped in with those "secret Muslim" emails.

The primary reason why people are suspecting that the Clintons actually are behind it rather than it being another made up Drudge story is because the Clinton campaign did not deny the story when it was brought to their attention this morning. It took something like 7 hours before a senior campaign staffer denied that they were behind it. Moreover, the timing of the slander seems a bit well timed, given candidate Clinton's bipolar diatribes and her obviously weakening positions in Texas and Ohio. And then there's the obvious reason why the Clintons would actually be behind it is because Hillary, as House would say, is a ruthless cut throat bitch.

I saw Fox News ripping the pictures very hard as well. That means Fixed FUCKING Noise is helping Hillary in its shameless Machiavellian backstabbing way!

Woohoo, Newshounds caught it!
FOX News: Smear first, investigate later
Reported by Chrish - February 25, 2008 -

The FOXNews.com website's top story with photo (after the jump) insinuates that Hillary Clinton's campaign is circulating an image of Barack Obama in traditional African garb ("Muslim-dress"), citing a "web report." The infamous Drudge Report is the source.

The front page reads

"Obama camp reacts to Web report that Clinton staffers circulated Muslim-dress photo, calling it 'the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering...'" beneath the photo:

Image

(Note the hyperlink to the article,
http://youdecide08.foxnews.com/2008/02/ ... gn-source/.)

Not until you click through and read to the article's last two paragraphs do you see

"FOX News is working to confirm the source of the photo, but GOPAC head and FOX News contributor Michael Steele said he’d be surprised to find out this photo came from the Clinton campaign.

“If there is a staffer who sort of in their own roguish way had gone out and put this out there, this will be their last day on the job,” Steele said. “I think this is something that just kind of popped up on the ‘Net and they are attributing it to her. I’d be hard-pressed to find someone on the staff who is wasting their time in the heat of this battle to do something like that.”

Smear first, cover your ass later. Real journalism.

This is par for the course for Ailes' machine, but all the more notable after the collective hissy fit the right, with FOX News broadcasting for them, had over the "shoddy journalism," "innuendo," and "insinuations" of the New York Times article that brought Republican John McCain's judgment into question.

It's another two-fer smear, accusing Hillary Clinton of dirty tricks and relating Barack Obama to Islam, which for FOX followers is akin to Satanism.

Do you have any evidence of this, beyond rampant speculation?

Furthermore, why would posting a picture of a candidate be considered offensive? He's not doing anything wrong. I'd think that the campaign wouldn't care about things like this--can't they just say, "Yeah. He went to Kenya. Bought the t-shirt. Whoopdie do?"

No, I can't make that claim, and I wasn't intending to. I'm just saying that I'm almost certain of it, and it was poor wording on my part. It may not be the McCain camp itself, but some GOP hit group.

The red is because he's wearing a red tshirt and khakis, and the turban and sashathingie is just wrapped on.

Also, we all know it's called a moslem.

Seriously, I'm pretty offended by all that talk. So suddenly it's okay to be anti-islam bigots? Oh Jesus, an muslim president! Holy mother of fuck! They'll engage in religious discrimination! Oh wait...
