Assuming, like myself, the majority of this boards members found the prequels second rate compared to the originals. Would a successful TV show, be it the animated or live action version or hopefully, both, alleviate some of the negativity you have or feel towards Lucas and the prequels.
What would be required for that to happen for you? (Assume quality is a given. I know, ) A long run. Several spin offs. A short but well done series. Good characters that can expand to other mediums. Or are the prequels something that can never be forgiven, no matter what the TV shows do or don't accomplish?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

Very easily. My negativity is simply towards specific shit in the EU (Namely, 95% of the post Thrawn EU), I love a lot of the prequel or background stuff.
I'll love and see every episode of the tv series, unless it's really bad. I mean "This shit makes the AOTC love sotry look like a work of art" bad, not "damn ewoks" bad, I mean truly spectacular shit.
And there's no chance of it being that bad I think .

Short answer : Somehow capture the theme and spirit of ESB. Then turn it into a multi season TV show.
Long answer : Far too many points to cover but one particular aspect that comes to mind right now is...
Less toy robots and aliens would be a good start. Yeah I know SW galaxy is filled with aliens. But most of the aliens in prequels were tentacled, horny, furry humans. Enough of those freaks. Bring back the old human dominated Empire and rebel alliance. Anthromorphic aliens should be a minority. Admiral Ackbar was cool. But 90 % of the Rebel crews, pilots and troopers seen on screen being fish people would have sucked.
In the same vein more bizzare aliens please ! Aliens like the Hutts or Genosians who are not recycled cartoon rejects.

I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
I guess this is slightly off-topic, but according to the Liverpool Daily Post, James Marquand who is the son of the Return of the Jedi director Richard Marquand, was asked by George Lucas to direct episodes of the live-action series.

No the Star Wars franchise is in danger of ending up just like Star Trek. By that I mean familiarity can breed a lot of contempt. Which was exactly the problem with Star Trek, they've spread themsleves so thin that the quality has dropped and only hardened fanboys are prepared to fork over their cash.
