Hillary Unmasked

Post by CaptainChewbacca »

Dick Morris shares some insights
The real Hillary Clinton stood up at the Democratic presidential debate this week: angry, sarcastic, stubborn, secretive, arrogant, mired in the past, victim of the media, and still firmly convinced that she is uniquely entitled to the Democratic Party nomination and the presidency.

That Hillary hasn’t really been on display much since the debacle of her disastrous health care plan and the end of Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial, when she haughtily flaunted her combative personality.

But make no mistake about it — that’s the Hillary Clinton that we’ll see if she somehow manages to steal the Democratic nomination.

She’s found her voice. The one that so alienated everyone she came into contact with over her health care plan that her own party destroyed it. The one that publicly and loudly defended Bill and arranged for attacks on Monica Lewinsky when she knew the complete and sordid truth.

She’s always had a chip on her shoulder and a strange paranoia, but it’s definitely gotten worse. Now it’s not just the vast right wing conspiracy that is out to get her. Now it’s the mainstream media. How are they doing that? By asking her the first questions at the debates!

Hillary’s snide comment about whether Barack needed a pillow to be made more comfortable was downright embarrassing. The anticipated applause line on her script never happened. The audience was silent. The press was amazed. And Barack seemed genuinely startled by her nuttiness — he looked over at her as if he was viewing a dotty old aunt at a family dinner, the one that everyone politely humors.

Her lifelong pattern of secrecy was once again evident. While publicly promoting transparency in government, she steadfastly refuses to release her personal income tax returns. That’s a clear tip-off that there’s something to hide. Recall that the Clintons selectively released tax returns in Arkansas, but refused to go back to 1980, when Hillary had her windfall in cattle futures.

During the debate, Hillary suggested that she’d release the returns “soon,” but her staff quickly backtracked. She implied that she’s been too busy to deal with releasing the returns. Does she really think anyone believes that it will take more than simply making a copy of the return? She’s stalling and there’s a reason for that.

Most likely, the return will show how much Bill has been making from his partnership with the Sheik of Dubai and his other business ventures. Should the spouse of a presidential candidate be in business with a foreign leader who needs favors from the U.S. government? Definitely not. That’s why we’ll never see those returns.

And then there are the Clinton Library records that document her schedule as first lady. She doesn’t want them released either because they will definitively show that she was never the co-president. The Library has been stalling on the release of those documents for years. During the debate, she said that she wanted them released as quickly as possible and seemed to blame the Bush administration for the delay. But today, the White House indicated that she had made no requests for any expedited release.

The old Hillary, the real Hillary, is back.

And there’s apparently been no one to stop her from acting on her own worse instincts.

Underneath the veneer of the practiced smile and the strategically used giggle, there is a rage that is always close to the surface. It was on display in the debate.

Hillary Clinton is furious that America has not agreed to her coronation. She doesn’t understand why voters are rejecting her and embracing Barack Obama. She just doesn’t get it.

Never one to engage in self reflection, she can’t blame herself or even her incompetent strategists and advisers. They’re too close to her. She can’t accept the sorry fact that her campaign has been a disaster because it was based on the past and not the future, because it was premised on her phony experience and maintaining the status quo, and because her negative outlook is completely out of step with the mood of America. And finally, because in the positive message of Barack Obama, Americans see a stark contrast with her doom and gloom view of the world.

So, she’ll blame the media. It’s their fault.

And she’ll keep screaming about what a fighter she is.

More like a bully.
Its a bit unsettling when you consider just HOW MUCH Hilary is still keeping quiet about herself. When the fact that Michelle Obama might have written a racially charged paper in college came out, the paper was made available to the media in less than 2 days.

Well, I'm no Hillary fan myself, but Dick Morris isn't exactly the most unbiased source. He's probably the most respected Hillary hater in the country.

He may be, but the facts he laid out to my knowledge are correct.
Frankly when every other candidate except Hillary voluntarily releases their tax returns, it does make you wonder just what she wants to hide.

Morris's belief that it has to do with Bill's earnings from various foreign deals is probably true, but that's my opinion.

His 'facts' are that Hillary has not released her personal tax returns and that the Clinton Library hasn't released her records from Bill's time in office. From these two facts, the author manages to speculate an entire theory on Clinton's personal demeanor and conduct.

I'm no Hillary fan, but lets leave the bullshit columnist speculation shtick to Fox News and friends.

I'm in no position to judge whether his speculation regarding her motives is correct.
OTOH, the facts cited are correct, and just what conclusion am I supposed to draw when she's the sole holdout WRT releasing this information?

I'm not fan of this twit, but that doesn't mean it's OK to distort his argument. At no point does he claim that these two facts alone allowed him to construct a complete picture of Hillary's "personal demeanour and conduct". Your argument presumes that he knows nothing about Hillary other than these two facts: a premise which is utterly preposterous on its face.

Of course it's a biased article. But Clinton has given him plenty of ammo, hasn't she? She's engaged in fear-mongering, race-baiting, flimsy accusations of media bias, the whole nine yards, all while vacillating between "attack dog" mode and nose-in-the-air claims of being "above" that sort of thing. I believe it is impossible for anyone to honestly watch Clinton for any length of time and not conclude that she is the most transparently insincere politician they've seen in a long time.

Personally, I think Morris is a louse. Admittedly, he's a louse who's uniquely qualified to speculate on what the Clinton's motives are, since he's one of the few Fox News 'pundits' who can actually claim to have worked for the Clintons in any prominent capacity.

If you ignore his annoying efforts to wax poetic about the political morality of the Clintons' actions, his speculation about what they're trying to hide or what they're worried about revealing is probably accurate.

Your argument presumes that he knows nothing about Hillary other than these two facts: a premise which is utterly preposterous on its face.
He does claim that those two facts are enough to construct two seperate arguments:

Fact one: Hillary has not made public her tax returns.
Proceeding argument:

From that one fact, he is able to conclude that Hillary is actively hiding how much money Bill is making from foreign leaders that would jepordize the intergrity and independence of the Whitehouse.

Fact two: The Clinton Library has not realsed documents from Bill time in office
Argument/speculation:
She doesn’t want them released either because they will definitively show that she was never the co-president. The Library has been stalling on the release of those documents for years. During the debate, she said that she wanted them released as quickly as possible and seemed to blame the Bush administration for the delay. But today, the White House indicated that she had made no requests for any expedited release.
So, from the fact that there are some documents that the Clinton Library has not yet realsed for public consumption, he manages to make the argument that these documents must illustrate that she was never the 'co-president' and she's lying to the public when she says she wants them released, because she is actually actively hiding something here as well (I suppose the White House statement could be fact 3, but it's still pretty pathetic).

Outside of those two arguments, the guy is just insulting Hillary (which doesn't count as actual 'argument') and making social commentary.

My original statement was:

How am I backpeddling in the slightest? From these two facts, he manages to speculate the following:
~Hillary Clinton is actively hiding numerous documents from the American public
~Hillary is lying through her teeth to the American public about these documents
~These documents contain information concerning improper buisness dealings with foreign leaders
~These improper dealings will result in the Whitehouse doing favors for foreign leaders.

Does that not constitute an 'entire theory' concerning Hillary's personal demeanor and conduct?

The author in question is also basing this off on direct personal experience working with her you dolt! His conclusions are not based only on those two facts anywhere except in your pea brain.
You think, maybe, I don't know... Working with someone for a few years is a solid basis for personality judgements?
Can you, well, maybe... Observe a pattern of action?

Dick Morris is a sleazebag. This has nothing to do with his judgement of the Clintons.

Google his name and "toe sucking" if you want a good laugh.

Knowing Clinton's personality doesn't justify pure speculation concerning what these documents may contain and their impact on Clinton's performance in the White House you dolt. His guess of what Clinton's tax return contains is not much better than any other pundits guess.

Sure it does. Knowing somebody's personality will give you a better idea of how they would handle future situations. Morris saw how Hillary worked as First Lady, so he'd have a better idea than most about how Hillary would conduct herself in the White House. Also, since Morris managed Clinton's '96 re-election campaign I'd imagine he'd have a better idea of what was in the tax returns than most pundits.

Don't get me wrong, here. I think Morris is a real scumbag. But that's precisely why Bill Clinton started listening to him in the first place, and why Morris has a more astute view of the Clintons than most of the wing-nut lunatic 'pundits' currently out on the air waves.

Let me add my own two cents:Specifically my direct person observations from first hand observation of Ms Clinton in an non-official capability.

She has been in Washington for far to long, she has both the walk(You will stand aside for me said Zeus to the puny mortals) and the Act(Oh lucky you, you get to meet ME, this must be a great treat for you)

Also she's a bitch, but that's a whole other story.

Back to the thread.

The most damning thing about the entire piece was this part
And then there are the Clinton Library records that document her schedule as first lady. She doesn’t want them released either because they will definitively show that she was never the co-president.
Much like Bush's vacation information, the fact that she's refused to release her schedule so the media can exam exactly how much of a Co-President she was is damning. Not a I had sex in an airport bathroom damming but the traditional her primary positions are 70% Bullshit damming.

No, he says she's hiding the contents of those documents, which is also obviously true since she won't release them. Unless you buy that bullshit about how it takes years to photocopy a tax return.
~These documents contain information concerning improper buisness dealings with foreign leaders
He said that is "likely". He never claims it is anything other than speculation.
~These improper dealings will result in the Whitehouse doing favors for foreign leaders.
An ironic criticism from him since the right-wingers he favours are always doing exactly the same thing, as has been the case for decades now, but do you seriously think that is not the case?
Does that not constitute an 'entire theory' concerning Hillary's personal demeanor and conduct?
No it doesn't. There is much more to a person's "personal demeanour and conduct" than that, which he undoubtedly derives from having actually known the woman.

He says 'most likely', but at any rate it's still speculation. The fact that he admits it doesn't make his article any better.

What reasons do I have to believe this is the case? What can Hillary give Dubai? Why would the fact that Bill Clinton has some buisness dealings in Dubai (which many rich people have) somehow mean that Clinton has some 'favors' to pay?
No it doesn't. There is much more to a person's "personal demeanour and conduct" than that, which he undoubtedly derives from having actually known the woman.

Every time you change your arguement you look even dumber.
You honestly believe that the Clinton library wouldn't release said documents if asked to by a Clinton?

"Oohh noos! This library dedicated to me won't release those documents! Even after I have asked them to! They must be part of the vast right wing conspiracy! ohh noos! I has forgotten hows to use a copy machine, and where my tax records is!"
One is held by the Clinton library, not Clinton herself. The other is 'supposed' to come out 'soon', which could mean that Hillary really is going to release this information at some point, however slim you may think the chances of that are.

As if the Clintons had no say in policy, hiring, FIRING, or funding of the Library. It's gone rogue on them!
