What do you look for in a political leader?

Post by Pvt. 18 »

Hello. As you know, my user-name is Pvt. 18 (the newbie from Testing). Anyway, to ask a personal question:

What qualities would make you like a certain political figure, and what do you look for in a good leader? Of these qualities, what is the most important for you? Just so you know, don't expect me to give an answer, as I do not yet have a political affiliation.

As for me, I look for someone inspiring and intelligent, someone who can convince me with his mind, not with my guts.
"The surest sign that the world was not created by an omnipotent Being who loves us is that the Earth is not an infinite plane and it does not rain meat."

"Lo, how free the madman is! He can observe beyond mere reality, and cogitates untroubled by the bounds of relevance."

Intelligence is key. Rational logical thinking. Some military service isn't bad, as, if we are talking about the President or Congress, they are expected to put troops in harms way and should have an understanding of that. Prior service where decisions of consequence have been made.

As for specific beliefs, well, that is up to the individual.

And you can certainly give an answer. You don't have to have a political affiliation to know, or to think you know, what makes a good leader, or at least what qualities you look for in one.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.
