Bully:Scholarship Edition..

Post by Jade Falcon »

Anyone else getting this? I've preordered it for the 360. I played the PS2 version when it was out and it was a fun little game. Sadly I don't think it did quite as well as it should have, at least in the UK. The rebranding to Canis Canem Edit didn't help, and the box design didn't exactly leap out the shelf either.

So anyone else interested in it. The achievement list looks interesting and there's nothing too murderous there.

A few classes and some missions. It still looks largely like poo (from the screenshots, many areas area barely better than the PS2 version, while most of the characters look better but hardly 360 standard). It seems pretty disappointing, and certainly not worth it if you've already got the other one.

I've got it pre-ordered for 360 as I didn't play it on PS2.

I like the concept and am keen to give it a try. But, I'll keep my eyes on reviews and dump my preorder for a rental if they're less than stellar.

Judging by the few reviews on Metacritic so far, it looks like most of the scores are in the 80-85% range. Not many complaints about the 360 version's gameplay so far, but some are really knocking it because it doesn't look all that better than the original. The Wii version seems to be scoring slightly better than the 360 one, but it looks like that's because the reviewers aren't getting as hung up on the graphics.

Keep that in mind when Okami comes to the Wii. Obviously the Wii is going to score higher because the innovation adds to the fun. You can tell from the commercials that the games graphics haven't improved much, I don't need to read a review to know that. Though I was only expecting the graphics problem to only be for the Wii, not the 360.

Oh, joy of joys, the 360 version is apparently as buggy as all hell. Guess that means I'm going with the Wii version...

Source:
We wrote earlier today of the issues surrounding the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition, hoping to get a statement from Rockstar Games on the status of either a fix or a replacement plan for those affected. For those not up to speed, the 360 port is reportedly plagued with freezing issues and audio glitches in addition to a less than solid frame rate. Rockstar issued a statement tonight, saying the staff was "devastated" to learn of the issues surrounding the Bully port, something they say didn't come up in the QA process.

Their full statement follows.

"We have just become aware of the issues people are having with Bully Scholarship Edition on Xbox 360. It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA - in any of our offices or at Microsoft. I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention. We love our games and put a huge amount of energy and care into making them all that they can be. We would never shove anything out the door - we never have and never will. We apologise to everyone affected for the inconvenience. Respectfully, Sam Houser"

We'll let you know of any future developments on the Xbox 360 edition of Bully: Scholarship Edition and hope that Rockstar Games and Microsoft will do their best to address fan concerns swiftly.

Yeah. I've had a lock-up on my 360. Suckage = growing.

Add that to the completely obscene load times...

I haven't had any problems on the 360 version (yet). However I would imagine a patch will be released which is at least something.

Got to agree about some of the load times being a bit long though.

Have had three lockups in the time I've played it, and I've been playing it for a while. The additional classes are interesting, the Geography being about the best, though as a non-US resident I had difficulty with Geography 2 getting the proper states.

The game is still enjoyable and apparently Rockstar are working on a patch ASAP.
