7 days have now passed and this vote is closed. There are 44 total votes present including 2 abstentions so we have a quorum to do buisness. There are 32 votes in favour against 10 oppossed, the motion carries. Pursuant to this the admin staff should be made aware that this is the will of the Senate.

OK, one question before implementation: what name will we give the new forum?

I was talking to Shep and he said that fgalkin had suggested some Russian names (of course), like "Istoriya" or "История". Any other ideas, or should we run with that one?

We could simply title it "History Forum", but in Latin or Greek; that might be a nice touch.

Well, it was more a case of Shep coming to me with a bunch of horribly mangled Russian names that he asked me to fix, but yeah. Alternatively, I support Surlethe's suggestion of "History Forum."

I think a proposal along Surlethe's lines would be best, its simple and easy for even the amateur historian around these parts to get.
