I wonder if Toilet Seat Woman
is obese? Unless I missed something after a second reading at 3:00am, the article says nothing about her physical condition other than her legs appeared to be "atrophied" (gah) but she may well have been somewhat overweight, which might explain how her flesh/skin "grew" over the seat. If she was significantly overweight, I suppose the story would have mentioned it.
Anyway, short of being physically restrained in some way, I don't understand how anyone could remain sitting on a toilet for years unless there was some really powerful psychological weirdness going on. If she were physically impaired in some way (paraplegic), one would think she would have eventually just
fallen off of the seat, unless of course she was repeatedly put back on the seat. And the horror story example of the Couch Woman, at least a couch is soft and one can recline on it. A toilet is hard, even with a cushioned seat.
It would be a lot easier to understand if she were imprisoned in the bathroom. She never got up once in over 2
years? Not to pick up something she dropped? I get a sore back sitting in my comfortable desk chair for a few hours, I cannot imagine what sort of back pains this woman would have endured for 2 years on a toilet seat. That seems hard to believe...
Ugh. The entire thing is nauseating. And I wonder if there is more to this story, especially concerning the "boyfriend."
