Incredible Hulk Trailer
Moderator: NecronLord
Has there been any word on whether this one follows the first film, or is a stand-alone feature? It seems strange that they would completely ignore one film and simply make another, but I suppose if reception to the first one was weak enough it's entirely possible. I couldn't really tell from the trailer if it was meant to include the events of the first film or not.

This film is pretty much going to pretend that the 2003 version never happened. This one is starting fresh.FA Xerrik wrote:Has there been any word on whether this one follows the first film, or is a stand-alone feature? There's a Graphic Novel?! WHERE!Tsyroc wrote:"Wanted" looks good but I would have loved to see them do it more in line with the graphic novel.LadyTevar wrote:http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1583143&vid=215399
Ok, there's just something about "Wanted" that makes me go OOOOOOOO SHINY! and want to see it.

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

I did like the little touch in the trailer where the diagnostic machine(?) has a certain light pattern playing over Bruce's face.Schuyler Colfax wrote:This film is pretty much going to pretend that the 2003 version never happened. The TV series had that same pattern of lights in the opening, part of the Gamma Ray machine Bruce was testing and overdosed on.

There was even the publicity still of him in the gamma ray chair just like in the TV show. Also, I've read they've gotten the rights for the "Lonely Man" theme to be played in the movie.LadyTevar wrote:I did like the little touch in the trailer where the diagnostic machine(?) has a certain light pattern playing over Bruce's face.

They have paperback as well.
The movie honestly is going to be immensely different except Wesley Gibson and Jolie playing a character named Fox. Hopefully from it all, it's a good popcorn flick.

It's nothing like the trailers of the film have shown.. It's more along the lines of juvenile wish fulfillment, IMMHO.LadyTevar wrote:There's a Graphic Novel?! From wiki:
The guy goes around being basically evil. There are other parts, obviously, but still, the main character is a serial killer/rapist.The premise of Wanted is that all the world's super-villains decided to band together in 1986 and use their vast collective powers — including mad science, magic and mind control — to eliminate all the world's superheroes and rewrite reality in their own dark image; in essence an in-story retcon. Prior to this the world was a brighter, more hopeful place (a clear reference to the end of the Silver Age). Superheroes are remembered as fiction (as they are in the real world), and behind the scenes a cabal of the leading super-villains run the entire world.
Mama's boy Wesley Gibson discovers that his recently-assassinated father was a super-criminal called The Killer, and that Wesley has inherited his perfect aim and uncanny skill with any weapon. Wesley enters a new life, and must deal with the most dangerous and evil people in the world — whose ranks now include Wesley himself.

Well, there was an article some months ago I read that says what amounted to this: If you wanted to think this was a reboot you could, because of the brand new filmmakers and actors. However, the writer consciously tried not to retread the Eric Bana movie, so storywise it could be considered as a sequel if you wanted to.Bubble Boy wrote:If this is a remake, I'm slightly disappointed. I really liked the first Hulk movie and hoped they would make a sequel to it.
Regardless though, I'm certainly interested in this one.

What's going DTV? This movie?Zablorg wrote:Straight to DVD apparently.
It has a US theatrical release on 13 June.
Besides, Universal would never honestly spend about $125 million on a movie only to dump it with a DTV release.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

"And besides, who cares if a monster destroys Australia?"
It's more along the lines of being a story about villains who have fun being villains so we can sympathise with them to some extent.Cosmic Average wrote: It's nothing like the trailers of the film have shown.. It's more along the lines of juvenile wish fulfillment, IMMHO.

It looks good, though Liv Tyler being scientist-y with glasses made me laugh.
