Canon question.

Interesting quote by Lucas. What does this mean for the SW canon?
George Lucas wrote:But there's no story past Episode VI, there's just no story. It's a certain story about Anakin Skywalker and once Anakin Skywalker dies, that's kind of the end of the story. There is no story about Luke Skywalker, I mean apart from the books. But there's three worlds: There's my world that I made up, there's the licensing world that's the books, the comics, all that kind of stuff, the games, which is their world, and then there's the fans' world, which is also very rich in imagination, but they don't always mesh. All I'm in charge of is my world. I can't be in charge of those other people's world, because I can't keep up with it.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

Already wrote this on the canon sticky thread. :P

Nothing changed. He's said similar things before. I did like his acknowledgement on Luke's continuing story in the books.

I don't know, I have one interpretation which is colored by my growing dissatisfaction with the EU and the direction it has taken, but I really can't call that a full acknowledgment either. It rather seems as if he is trying to distance himself from those other two 'worlds' he is speaking of.

A more objective interpretation would be that the story he refers to simply is "The Story of Anakin Skywalker" (ie that he emphasizes his movies unique position in the franchise).

Sounds like what he's saying is in his world (where he chooses to personally exercise complete control rather than just letting LucasFilms employees do as the like) there's no more Skywalker Stories, meaning there are no films that are allowed to continue the Skywalker Story after RotJ.

Same as always isn't it, he can change whatever he wants later, until then enjoy feeding me money.
