Alright, now I have figured out what the role of Techpriest has to be in Dark Heresy. They're not just there to unjamm guns and repair equipment after battle, they're there to make servitors out of your conquered enemies! Think about it, it's brilliant! We could be leading an army of mechanical zombies wielding buzzsaws and heavy bolters, and every man we capture would join our horde. We would be unstoppable.

Well, except for daemons. And space marines. And tanks. And orbital bombardments. And...

Yeah...

Still, think of the possibilities!

Yeah, sorry about being gone so much lately. My girlfriend is visiting for spring break and over the weekend I was way out in the country so I've been either busy or completely cut off from any kind of contact with the outside world. I'll probably be able to post something in the morning.

Edit: Now that I've actually had the chance to look at the book and pick some new skills, here's what I'm going with:

1) Technical Knock (100)
2) Sound Constitution (100)
3) Tech Use +10 (100)
4) Luminen Charge (100)

Nothing wrong with those.

Remember, you can buy skills from earlier careers later on so you're not in a "buy them now or forever lose the ability to do so" situation. The big problem is that you've got more cool stuff to buy than you'll have xp and you'll never escape that situation.

On the other hand, that means you'll always have cool stuff to buy so its a problem I'm prepared to live with.

Using Awareness to search for hidden enemies, and making untrained Search checks due to me not getting that upgrade for a while yet.

Have one shotgun out and plan to give both barrels to anything that pokes its mutated head out, then dropping that shotgun to pull my other one and repeat if necessary.

First off:

Diver is still at overwatch point, presumably with Zakary unless the adept decided to up and leave.

Other than that, you're where you want to be. Meaning if you wanted to go and help people with clearing buildings, that's where you are, etc.

Well I'm pretty much assisting in tossing the dome for evidence and looking for booby traps. Mostly though I'm trying to clear buildings rather quickly. Well, now would be the time for Diver to betray us if he really wanted to, as now he is all alone up there.....

Everyone in the dome needs to take a fear test for Fear 1 (Disturbing). If you fail, you are at -10 to any skill check that requires concentration. If you fail by 30 or more, you take 1d5 insanity points.

Well I rolled a 13 all on my own, passing the fear test sohehow (unless you want to roll for me Hotfoot.) I was wondering when the Very Bad Things would start showing up......

My man is going to do a very throurough check of the horror chamber. He wants to make sure there isn't anyhting dangerous down there. Then, he'll start trying to help the victims. (I may very well find something even worse down there though.)

Edit: Well I got with Hotfoot and he rolled me a 3. Hurray! But I fully expect a demon to destroy my brain eventually, as my willpower is only 32.

PS, while Block wasn't on today, I rolled for Verum, he failed. Not enough to gain insanity points (NEXT TIME, GADGET!), but enough to be freaking out.

Here's the proper order of events:

Door opened
Wretch grappled Lazarus
Platform started moving
Gelt attempted to kill the wretch, and failed miserably
Lazarus reversed the grapple and tackled the wretch, moving off of the platform in the process
Platform continues to rise with Verum, Varnius, and Gelt.

Okay, gotcha. So from the perspective of those at the door, Lazarus is missing and we probably don't know where the hell he is. That would also mean that IO probably has to rewrite his post a bit.
