Yeah but FOX has a habit of canceling dramas that are not a instant blow out success. Their comedies get a little more of a chance, but not their hour block shows. Though now that I poked around a bit, it seems to be getting ratings consistent with Bones.

Yes, despite the writers strike which fucked up programming royally and did infact impact the quality of T:SCC as well.Anarchist Bunny wrote:Yeah but FOX has a habit of canceling dramas that are not a instant blow out success. Furthermore, lets look at the other drama programs:
Canterbury's law - has two million less viewers. (not sure if it survives)
New Amsterdam - started with less viewers and has been on a steady downward slide ever since. (will most likely get cancelled)
Prison Break - the same ratings, but worse demos iirc. (4th season? Maybe)
Bones: slightly better ratings on the surface, but the DVR, itunes and unbox numbers of T:SCC are way higher than Bones. (Will most likely get renewed)
24: gets nearly double the viewership of Terminator. However, despite the writers strike and an incomplete season, T:SCC got nearly the same numbers as 24s first season. (Even better ones when you factor in the DVR etc numbers - T:SCC is ridiculously strong in these. If you want accurate ratings, you have to increase the numbers by two millions due to those numbers).
House: no contest.
So if you factor in all those factors, the case can be made that T:SCC is actually the third best rated drama on the Fox network. And when you consider that it gets quadruple the viewership of BSG despite having lesser production costs.....Even more, consider that most likely at least two dramas will get cancelled. My money is on New Amsterdam and Canterbury's law.
Fox most likely will need a good drama to be partnered with 24, since the Bones/House combination will most likely continue. The original intention of Fox was to partner T:SCC with 24, and I think they will do that (or with prison break, despite it being a weak lead in).
So based on these facts I am almost sure that T:SCC will get renewed.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? Continued because I accidentally hit post instead of preview:
There are also other factors to be considered. There is another Terminator movie coming up, and Fox will most likely use it for cheap advertising (even though they take place in seperate timelines).
Furthermore, the big money maker is advertising, mostly targeting the demo of males 19-35/45. And T:SCC has managed to be the best scoring program on FOX in that regard on Mondays.

Michael Ausiello reports the rumor that T:SCC has started looking for directors for a second season.

While this is nothing official yet, it is another sign that T:SCC will be back.
