Muslim leader says police are 'too cautious'

A Muslim leader has accused the police of being “over cautious” when investigating Asian gangs suspected of prostituting young white girls for fear of stirring up race riots.

Mohammed Shafiq, director of the Ramadhan Foundation, said that some of the criminals were Asian gangs looking to supplement their income now the cost of drugs has fallen in recent few years.

Speaking as part of BBC’s Panorama programme to be screened tomorrow, he said: “I think the police are overcautious on dealing with this issue openly because they fear being branded racist and I think that is wrong.

“These are criminals they should be treated as criminals. They are not Asian criminals, they are not Muslim criminals, they are not white criminals. They are criminals and they should be treated as criminals.”

The investigation found that the crime has an ethnic pattern across Britain and is largely committed by Asian groups in northern England, Afro-Caribbeans in the West Midlands and white, Turkish and Kurdish people in other regions.

Mr Shafiq said "I am the only Muslim leader in the UK that speaks up against this sort of thing and I do it because these teenage girls are somebody's sisters and they are somebody's daughters. I have got two daughters and I wouldn't want that to happen to my daughters.

"If there is a drug dealer grooming a white teenager into prostitution then I don't want the police service or local authority not to be open about it."

The Government has revealed it will introduce new crime-fighting targets aimed at combatting the problem and will introduce a new warning video for use in schools.

I'm watching this now on the BBC and it makes for pretty horrifying watching. Girls as young as 12 being abducted, raped, addicted to drugs and then pimped in the major cities in the country. One of the things that truly creeped me out was obviously somewhere near me (could tell by the accents) one obviously asian guy in a car saying that if it was his sister doing it, he would kick the shit out of her and send her back. The police or community support officer was obviously shocked and said something like "that's really not on" and the guy in the car said "why's it not? Sounds fine to me." [/quote]

I really think Political Correctness is a double edged sword and it's missuse is denuding the effectiveness of law and order, eroding common sense when faced with BS like this.

Anyways, it doesn't say where they are drawing these girls from. There's the usual standby - smuggling - but they didn't mention whether these were smuggled girls or simply poor British girls who get caught up in this.

In the documentary, they were mostly white british girls. The older guys approach them when they're 13 or 14, impress them with gifts, affection and drugs, then start pimping them out with threats like holding a kettle of boiling water over their throats or threats of gang raping their mothers and forcing them to watch. Horrible, horrible people.

Yuck. And it is apparently ethnic Asian guys that are the frequent perpetrators of this? That sounds like a racial backlash waiting to happen.

That's true - but the nature of their crime might be racist if they're targeting white girls. Prosecute the fuckers to the full extent of the law. The law should apply to everyone equally.

Keep in mind though that the UK is still mostly white - so if they were targeting girls for prostitution at random, they'd still probably draw mostly white girls.

Back when I was in college, I did a number of papers on slavery, mostly focused on the sex trade, but also covering a lot of other areas. It is truly horrifying how much of it still goes on all over the world to this day. The scary bit is how much of it happens in 'first world' countries, often with immigrants who can't speak the language, and are so scared of being deported back to the hellholes they came from they put up with it.

I'll admit, I didn't think it was that bad in Britain as well. Oh well, I guess you learn a little something each day to lower the bar set for humanity.
