I, for one, support the medicinal properties of Quickening. If you find you are feeling under the weather, crush a handfull of insects in your bare hands and inhale the essence. For serious illnesses, twist the head off a mouse or bird. Critical trauma may require the death of multiple higher mammals or even primates.

P.S. If 'Quickening' isn't a copyrighted term, I am SO selling a book about this! :P

I think a decent definition of Homeopathy would be something along the lines of the following:

"It's where you dilute something until there isn't any of it left, but it still has an effect anyway. Because of quantum, or something, I guess."

I honestly don't see why anyone with even a modicum of common sense would buy into it, but apparently it's a massive industry.

And death can be cured by putting the blood of 7 freshly slain virgins inside the bodies right lung.

"Common sense" is the reason why so many people are buying into it. Before I looked into it, we used some homeopathic medicine to treat our children's colic and teething. It appeared to work. After I looked into it, I realised the reason why it worked was possibly placebo, but more likely by the time you had given the 4 necessary doses over 1.5 hours, the initial reason for the complaint had disappeared. However, my wife and mother-in-law have now seen the "proof" that it worked for us, therefore it works. It doesn't get much more common sense than that.

People need to learn that common sense it highly overrated. If it were really a valid means of determining truth, we would be thousands of years more advanced than we are. The fact is, it was not until science began to overrule common sense several hundred years ago that we really started ramping up our technical advances.

I was referring to the notion that by diluting something you make it stronger, despite that being the exact opposite of what dilution means. It's hardly degree level chemistry, after all.

I refuse to accept that it is common sense that less of something has a greater effect. It is perhaps the very definition of counter-intuitive.

Oops, yes I agree. The "explanation" is ridiculous. I thought you were talking about the homeopathy movement in general. My bad.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, "quickening" also refers to the old English definition of when a child became alive in the womb. You might want to back off that term :P.
