I was actually thinking the same thing, but I sent Vegeta instead because he's more recognizable.
A companies of Space Marines like the Iron Warriors or Imperial fists, with emphasis on Heavy weapons teams, artillery support from Whirlwinds and heavy fire support from T-hawks who could also possibly be used to deploy Assault Troopers directly onto advancing Imperial walkers and armed with melta weapons.
No Termys, Dreadnaughts, Bikes or Landspeeders, although Speeders might be useful for taking down AT-STs and AT-ATs if they are Tornado or standard pattern.
OR
similar troop strength of Marines, but heavy on non-jumppack Assault teams and Terminator Squads.
Lure the Stormies into close-quarters i.e. the confines of Echo base then slaughter them in close using Termies to hold corridors with Heavy flamers...which are rather more potent than modern day flamers, BTW, replace withAssault Cannons for more death kill fun.
Assualt troops engage the stormies up close and stomp them.
Then jump-pack Marines sally out to do unpleasent things to AT-ATs legs, heads and underbellies with melta bombs.

One 220mm SPG with an anti armor/emplacement load out and a forward observer, both from my Imperium universe would work very well. If the walkers got inside the 24 klick minimal range it would be fucked though

I wonder if anyone's ever calculated what the Machines army from the opening sequence of Terminator 2 would have done against an attacking Imperial army.

I mean, its going to take E-11s and armour mounted weapons to actually get a definate kill on a warrior if the 2gigawatt number holds true.
Well the temoral rift thing uses some sort of technoabble rift to destroy things. Also the 2 Gigawatt is min. 20 odd was midrange wasn't it? Also every trooper has an E-11. Do you mean the tripod thing?

2gigawatt was minimum, 15-20gigawatt was the max IIRC.
And yeah, I mean E-WEB...not E-11, which even if they equalled the Large cloney rifles arent really going to scratch the Necrons, never mind disable the self-repair if that figure of 8 megajoules is right.

Yeah. But its just would be funnier to me to have him fighting the empire.
Another force I would use is the galatic patrol from lensman.
Or maybe a ww2 army.... With Arnak body armour and eXplosive bullets from the Skylark series.

The army of the Familias Reagnant in Elizabeth Moon's books. Their spacesuits can survive explosions of methane/oxygen mixtures, and Heris Serrano was worried about a hunting rifle (probably equivalent to a 30-06 if I remember the book properly) not penetrating a lightweight armored vest. Proper military armor would be proportionally stronger. They're also rather inventive, and have Zed, a cloaking system that works and can be used in-atmosphere. Admittedly, they do seem somewhat lower tech than SW, but stealth units would be useful.

This is alot nicer, 2 clusters of ground attack mechs, plus 1 cluster of aerospace fighters. All beloning to Clan Snow Raven (meaning ground is shit, but the Air is the best of the best of the best). Let the Aerofighters do their thing, and then the Ground troops should have a mop-up job.
What about the Rebel speeders?
EEK. That's tough, personally if you're only trying to delay I would just bury tons of Elementals and Jump Pack equiped mechs in the snow and when the Walkers were behind the lines they're suddenly surrounded by mean-lean-fighting machines. Would last all of 20 minutes, but I think I could destroy at least 1 At-At, and quite a few At-Sts
*smirk* That's rich, I didn't realize Battletech walkers would be able to do any more to the AT-ATs than the Rebel speeders did.
He could build time machines and super robots out of junkyard parts. Give him Star Wars-tech and he'll build a super robot that would trash the imperial forces like nothing.
I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!
