Man that trailer fucking sucks. Whoever directed it should be shot - the amount of fadeouts was infuriating.Dooey Jo wrote:Anyone who thought that was authentic must be punished by watching this.
I wonder if they ever finished that thing

Anyone notice how Link never says anything?

It's also pretty clear from the dialog in the games that Link does speak to others. What Link says just isn't shown, but the character he's speaking to responds as if he/she was just told what Link's quest is.Praxis wrote:Were a Zelda movie to be made, I would expect Link to be a more silent character. Not that he doesn't talk- just that he's the kind of character that doesn't use a lot of words.

Agreed, which is why I don't mind if he speaks now and then. Still, he just doesn't seem like a chatterbox. It's also pretty clear from the dialog in the games that Link does speak to others. A Half-Life movie, on the other hand, would be ruined entirely for me if Gordon Freeman uttered so much as a single phrase. Really, I just hope it's never greenlit.Praxis wrote:Were a Zelda movie to be made, I would expect Link to be a more silent character. Oh, come on. It's that important to you that he be mute? Would you like the movie to be made entirely in the first-person point of view, too?TithonusSyndrome wrote:A Half-Life movie, on the other hand, would be ruined entirely for me if Gordon Freeman uttered so much as a single phrase. Yes. I also want lots of crawling through vents and physics puzzles, to better capture the feel of watching someone play a game.Molyneux wrote:Oh, come on. It's that important to you that he be mute? I find the idea of a Legend of Zelda movie, live action or animated, American or otherwise, to be quite terrible (though especially American live action). I just can't see it happening without them ending up with something horrible, disappointing, and bastardized.
Something much more ideal would be doing animated TV series adaptations of the games, one season per game, with like 1-2 or even three episodes of filler material between each of the dungeon/gameplay plotting.

I believe in a sign of Zeta.

I actually disagree. Keep in mind that he basically spends most of his "game" in-game going around, talking to people, finding out what's going on. At the very least, he's very approachable, since people don't seem to be put off by him (Game Mechanics, I know).Praxis wrote:Agreed, which is why I don't mind if he speaks now and then.
