The Shroomanian Navy would like to expand its fleet of diesel submarines with the addition of mothership submarines of the Scinfaxi-type, which would then bolster the forces of Shroomania's allies in the FUNGAL AXIS and the FYTO's Task Force Cuntpuncher.

Shroomania would protect her allies under the aegis of a Stonehenge-type defense system.

After all a single Imperium could curb-stomp any Principality or lower in a day, or a Kingdom in a week. ANyway, I have named my island. I shall call it the Shinra Republic. Because I like the theme song for them from FF7. Plus some lamer already took "Shadow Empire" and I originally wanted "Shadow Republic" but didn't want to copy, so yeah. Oh well. Now it'll be easier for me to figure out city names.



This is my symbol. The symbology is as follows:

Shield - to represent the mutual defense that I am to keep as a member of the Mess
Torch - the Torch of Knowledge, to symbolize the quest for education and technology to which I would dedicate my people
Scroll - this is to show diplomacy, as that would be my first preference in dealing with my fellow nation-states
Sword - to keep our military forces strong, should diplomacy fail

For my nation I suppose I could use the custom map I once made to win Civ2 on deity level. The concept was a tight cluster of islands in the centre of a huge, ancient, partially flooded impact crater. According to the OP I have roughly the land area of the United Kingdom but only a quarter of the population. I thus decree that my nation consists of a dense ring of extremely mountainous and mostly inhospitable islands 400 miles wide and 50 miles thick. In the centre of the interior sea is a tight cluster of flat, fertile, subtropical islands about 200 miles across. The capital is in the exact centre on a low plateau. Of course I will rule this realm from a hidden lair built into an extinct volcano in the outer island ring, which will combine elements from all the evil lairs ever seen in a James Bond film (but primarily Blofeld's from You Only Live Twice).

As I recall in Civ2 this layout was pretty effective, because the gap between the outer ring and inner disc put my main cities out of range of air strikes, while the relatively few navigable channels through the outer ring made it easy to destroy incoming naval forces (including those pesky spy-landing ships). All through the game the idiot AI kept landing armies on uninhabited outer ring islands consisting entirely of mountains, which I picked off at my leisure. I expect it to be rather less effective in this world.
