Is there a jedi equivalent of the Darth title?

The Jedi are respected citizens within the Republic. They don't have to hide their identities.

I agree, that reply is hilarious.

And Darth_Sephiroth, you have seen the movies right? Have you ever heard anyone call a Jedi by a title similar to Darth?

People seem to call a lot of them "Master Jedi" or "Master Fill-in-name here". That could be considered the same as the Darth title even though it's only sort of similar.

"Sort of similar" is right, but calling them Master Jedi is like calling someone Officer Whatever, and Darth Whatever is like calling a gangmember by his alias.

Darth Whatevers, masks their name and identity, Master Jedi is a title which doesnt hide their name.

EDIT: missed some words.

Darth Whatever also means that you are one of two able and qualified to take the title. I believe that in Path of Darkness it also said that the Darth title was something like a challenge, by implying that whoever takes the title is the most powerful Sith.

Darth was added to the real name up until the times of Darth Traya. Then, aliases came into use. And Traya herself belonged to a company of three Darths. According to Wookieepedia though, the title was never too common.
Q: How are children made in the TNG era Federation?

A: With power couplings. To explain, you shut down the power to the lights, and then, in the darkness, you have the usual TOS era coupling.

It appears not to have come into common use till the time of Bane's reconstituted Order of the Sith Lords; before that, it was used sparingly, with several Dark Lords never claiming it at all (as per Exar Kun, for example). The closest Jedi equivalent, even then only a rough approximation, might be the Jedi Lord title, although it is more analogous to the title of Dark Lord than the "Darth" prefix proper.

Darth is actually an ancient Sith word that means "pimp."
fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1

Some time back (before the prequels) i kind of thought that the Jedi took a new name after achieving master hood, like Obi-wan was the name taken by Ben kenobi.

Though i was wrong of cause.
