It doesn't. That's what happens when you hack the game to map Pikachu to Ganondorf's animations/skeleton.

Then he grabbed the Smash Ball to make himself glow, then did Ganondorf's taunt.

Though the Wii looks fine without it in my opinion, the models aren't really that complex anyway.
