nBSG Episode 402: "Six of One"

Second episode of the final season begins in one hour.

For the record--something I should have mentioned in the premiere thread--the rating poll is set for an eight-day duration.

The deck is clear, pilot.

Fuck you all in the US/Canada/anywhere else where you know, it gets screened. And not two years late.

So exactly why does the broadcast networks force Austrialia & New Zealand to take the piss so much?

I imagine it gets cheaper as you wait longer to buy it. The market here is small.

I know that Trek was kept off prime time for many years here because while channel Nine had the rights to screen it, their programming director hated sci fi. At least, that's what i was told at a Trek convention in a seminar about the lack of sci-fi on TV.

I think that Head Six is in some sort of sex coma, so Head Baltar is filling in for her.

thoughts

1. Apparantly Grace Park is an exhibitionist . IIRC when they wrote the sex scene with her and Helo she said "Steamy jungle sex coming right up!"

2. Head Balter . this will be interesting

3. Chairman Cavil or is that Dear Leader Cavil ?

4. This hair colour suits Tricia Helfer best.

When Six said 'You can come in now', I was expecting her to be bringing back the Threes to change the vote. When instead the Centurions marched in...

And then when they looked to Six for orders...

God. Damn.

Looks like the suggestions made last week were taken to heart this week, though not with a Raptor. I wondered last week if maybe whatever jumping she was going to do might be out of range for a Raptor, so it makes sense that they're having to take a real ship to look for Earth.

I wonder if Tori is going to become a major Baltar supporter. Turn on her own perhaps? Or have the other four follow Baltar's path? Seems like they might be setting something up.

Not sure I like Head Baltar in Baltar, though the scene was amusing. As I said last week, he's the humor of the show.

Lee's multiple send-offs got to be tiresome. First the drinking game, then the briefing room, then the hanger (with some real BS from Tigh thrown in). I didn't much care for that dead horse being beaten.

Finally, we have the final nail. The two atheists have finally, in their own way, admitted that they believe in these miracles. And so Moore falls back on that old, overused stereotype.

I rated it a 2. The Cylon intrigue was by far the most interesting, and judging from next week's previews, I think the Cylon intrigue will continue to be the most compelling. If it wasn't for that, it would have been rated lower. Do they box them? Do they just kick them off the ship? Do the Centurions turn on all the human-forms in a "All of this has happened before, all of it will happen again?". Hmm.
It's Jodan, not Jordan. If you can't quote it right, I will mock you.

Nitram, watching Baltar and Tori: That man gets more ass than a toilet seat.

Well well well... I wondered when Cavil's little imperious leadership would get his ass handed to him. I did wonder about the look exchanged between the 8 and Boomer. It was almost a silent communication of a sort.

Nit, watching the Centurions 'vote': When the voiceless masses spoke, it was symphony of violence....

The part when Tigh imagined shooting Adama was a nice piece of work. The way he was so casual in replying to Adama and then shooting him right after was fantastic.

Baltar fucked two women in a single episode. I don't think that's happened before although I haven't seen all of season three. I was fully expecting him to fuck all the women in that compound considering how the majority of them were very good looking.

Watching the flashback, Starbuck should be dead unless it was some kind of transport technology. Even then, it seems more plausible that she is a Cylon, her consciousness was transferred to a new body, and she was given a new Viper which was taken from one of the colonies.

I so need to watch the third series.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

your a week off there..
Favorite part for me was "Centurions don't get a vote.....Oh they are not here to vote."
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

I initially gave it a five but now I'm thinking it was more of a four...maybe 4.5.

Out of each of Lee's send-offs, the third was the best.

I can't help but expect giving the Centurions self-awareness will eventually end up biting them all in the ass.

Episode 3 preview speculation: If it ends up that Tigh is pushing that they should murder Cally just so they can keep their identities as Cylons secret, then my respect for him will drop by quite a lot.

The Cylon Civil War's been a long time coming; it's nice to see where the initial disagreements betweeen the models from early Season One has lead to. Lee's send-off was tiresome, though. And next week's preview...oooh, this is going to be good...
