Jabba's son? LOL

This looks like Tartakovsky meets "the Incredibles" for sure... should be fun in theaters.
fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1
Someone asked me yesterday if Dracula met Saruman and there was a fight, who would win. I just looked at this man. What an idiotic thing to say. I mean really, it was half-witted. - Christopher Lee

Why, oh why can't they just create new damn characters straight out! Noo, we have to have characters related to people we know! :x It's not as if the galaxy doesn't have a shitload of people.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Well the point seems to be that it's the son of a crime boss that's kidnapped, so if they don't find him the mafia will take sides in the war. I suppose they could have made up another crime boss, but why not use Jabba?

And I like that the Hutts are a "clan", rather than a species. I never liked the idea that every giant slug-guy was a gangster which the EU seems to push.

Do we really need to be spoilerizing these? I mean, the link to the trailer is right in the OP.

Maybe people don't want to watch it, but want to read you saying vague things about it? :)

I thought it couldn't hurt...

Erm... it's the EU that established that Hutts, regardless of how individuals like Panaka view them, manage a sovereign state independent of the Republic. Which leads to...

Not "mafia"-- neutral government.

Oh yay, because if there's one thing we haven't seen enough of in Star Wars, it's Tatooine.

For fuck's sake ...

Its almost as if the force is super strong with those planets, and it simply pulls all important galactic events towards them.

I agree though, they should stop fucking around and make new planets already, I mean, its a fucking galaxy, its not like theres no room for expansion.

Hell, I will even take an amusement park world.

You know, I'm sure there will be minor things about it (aside from the artwork) that will be annoying, but watching it.. The battles look like they're going to be bloody awesome.

I wish I knew anything about codecs and shit to download that and watch it, but all I got was audio. :(

Try downloading VLC player.

Edit: If this Clone Wars series is a hit, I hope they get more freedom to develop a new series that revolves around scoundrels and tramp freighter captains, instead of Jedi and clonetroopers.

That's apparantly the live-action series which Lucas talked about in a recent interview. Instead of 1930s serials, it's more based on 1940s film noir.

I've been hoping for a series simply title Jedi, which will jump all over time following around different Jedi on adventures.

Maybe it's the video, but the animation looked like something to be found in a video game cinematic.

I think they used ILM cinematic technology in the actual animation program. The lightsabre-rotoscoping is nice.
