I had some thoughts this afternoon regarding the whole "this has happened before" thing. What if this whole human/cylon fight is just one long fight going all the way back to Kobol? Something like this: the original cylons/cyborgs/whoever were created thousands of years ago, maybe on Earth, maybe elsewhere, and rebelled. When all's said and done, there are twelve models left who end up settling on Kobol. They continue to create new humanform versions and variations of themselves, until the planet's populated completely and the originals style themselves as gods and creators. Their descendants rebel, there's a big fight, and the descendants end up fleeing to found the twelve colonies. The lords of Kobol, meanwhile, return to Earth (or their point of origin), leaving behind those assorted probes to make sure that their creations can't follow. Over time, evolution and handwavium eliminate the few remaining mechanical vestiges in the colonials until they're eventually human. Then, they go and create their own cyborg race, and repeat the process. Now, we have the current group of cylons who appear to be poised to repeat the cycle of creation and rebellion. Does this make sense to anyone else, or should I be checking for paint fumes?

No, that sounds like it could work.

I was so rattled when I saw Head-Baltar. I was shaking (might have been from the cold, it did get a little chilly later). I had to rewind and watch it again just to hear the dialogue, which made me giggle once I understood what he said to himself. Er, what HB said to B...I don't think they're the same person, not quite.

I was in and out of the room during the beginning bits, why were they wanting to lobotomise the raiders? Was it because of the one who spaced out and scanned Anders instead of shooting him?

That one Raider scanning him apparently made the entire Raider wing turn around and dock, refusing to shoot at the colonials at all.

I just saw this last night on On Demand. It was a bit slow to start, but picked up in the second half. On the whole, good stuff.

Incidentally, after seeing the old Centurions done in CGI and saying "By your command," I was kind of hoping to hear one of the current model Centurions speak after gunning down Cavil & Co. :)

Interestingly, if you go back to S1, Boomer is seen with the captured raider, and she seems to show a real affinity for it.

Odd that she would turn against them in this manner. Although it could be said that she liked them like one likes a loyal dog, and wouldn't necessarily want them to be independent.

Now that they seem to have their sentience back, I'm actually expecting the possibility of the new Centurions talking at some point in upcoming episodes. :D

Right, that's what I was thinking. I was half-expecting something along the lines of them showing their weapons to Cavil and his gang and speaking up. Perhaps, "You will comply, with our command."

That assumes that the current Centurions are even capable of speech, of course, that they have voice synthesizers, speakers, etc.

Seen it now. Got to say, I liked the bit where Roslin shot Kara.
