There's a deadend street near my house where the snowplows pile a 10-20' (depending on snowfall) mountain of snow in the middle of the deadend. When I was younger we'd all go there after school and have hours of fun knocking each other off the hill and having huge snowball fights. Unfortunately the city now carts the snow away or something and the big snowpiles are impossible to find outside of shopping mall parking lots.

I also find it amusing how some people with 4x4's drive like maniacs because they figure their 4WD will protect them. Hey, word to the wise: 4WD helps you control your vehicle and accelerate, but IT DOESN'T HELP YOU STOP.
More than likely it was my home state Wong. Like I said, we rarely get snow in this city, outlier counties usually get a dusting. Birmingham and Tuscaloosa in the south get snow every now and then. We're just not equiped to handle heavy weather like that. There's really just about 0% reason to prepare for it. Calling the National Guard is there over reaction to everything though. What's the real kicker is yankees that come down here and laugh then go and try to drive on the roads. Surprise yanks, there's an inch of ice under all of that.

Down here, people with cars drive like maniacs (much like myself) and those with SUVs and 4x4 vehicles go all slow and cautious. Hell, they'll even come to a complete stop and crawl over speed bumps. I see a speed bump and I'm revvin'g Big T up.

Suffice to say, I have not. Sounds like fun. Then again, we haven't had enough to even build a mini me snow man in ten years now.

I have got to toss this one in here. Like I said, I'm here at work, but we're closed. I rode in with one of the other guys, so I'm sorta stuck until they finish up some work in the back. Two guys just knocked on the front door. (I work at a motorcycle shop. Bikes, ATVs, bullshit, the basics). They were not happy to find out we're closed. They drove 3 hours in from Rome Georgia. If I'm not mistaken, the snow got heavier, the further east you traveled. That is crazy man. I had to send them on thier way though.

DG_Cal_Wright wrote:It is finally snowing in this fair fucking town. Last week it was goddamned cold with rain. Counties around us, tennessee, counties below us all got a little of the white stuff on the ground, but what did we get? Sleet and rain. Fuck. Right now though, the ground is white. Granted it's not more than 1/2" but still. It was almost a year ago when anything remotely this close came, and that was about four years if not more since the time before that. Unfortunately my plan did not work. I rushed outside with my digital camera, a black pit coat that is down to my feet and has a hood and threw some batteries in one of my lightsabres. I'm backlit, but nothing more than a silouhette with an orange beam coming from my arms. heh. I turned the flash on, but to no prevail. Damn floodlights. What about the rest of you fucktards. Any snow out there?

If I can manage to get on a site, then I'll post both of them actually. They look the same, I'm just facing two different directions.

Of course, since the whole state is regularly paralyzed by limmericks and crossword puzzles, that's not saying much :D

Grr! It'll be cold enough down here for snow, but it's winter and therefore we get no precipitation and therefore no snow!

Lazy. And if you live in an area up north where it snows every other
week, a snowblower is a good investment, that will last several years.

Heh. Down here, it snows rarely enough that a snowblower is a luxury
item, but I'd gander up north, that it would be a necessity for getting to
work on time, without having to budget 30+ extra minutes to clean the
crap out of your driveway....

I live in Texas, it snows once every 2 decades here and according to a chart I once saw, each time it snows in the part of Texas where I live there is less of it.The tempature here is 46F, that may not seem so bad but remember I live in east Texas, I am much more suited for hot humid weather.
