I understand that but, with all due respect, it seems like circular reasoning to me. (Please note, I know you're far from the only person who operates by that rule of thumb. Shoot, I was willing to swing that way earlier in this very thread!)

And even if someone winds up with a "special" title and wore it as a twisted badge of honor, frankly, so what? I think Coyote nailed it: a custom title isn't just about the schmuck bearing it; it's at least as much reminds us, and shows future members, who we're dealing with. That everyone else could see the person has a particular weirdness seems to serve a greater purpose.

I think we still need to come up with a formal list of charges before starting a vote thread. As the brain bug "stalker" charge demonstrated, there's a lot of assumptions and hearsay going on, which would not make for a balanced vote.

The charge of being inept at romantic relationships to the point that he can't even attempt to start one doesn't really seem to be something worthy of punishment when it seems to be confined to just one thread. (Not having a relationship despite wanting one seems punishment enough.) When was the last time he mentioned anything about the girl in the now-derailed thread? This would be more of an issue if he kept at it longer.

Instead, the "stalker" brain bug accusations seem to have caused him to go into defensive mode and drop the original subject completely. (Had he kept to the original subject longer, there might be something to charge him with there.)

As far as I'm concerned, his biggest offenses have to do with hiding behind mental disorders and his going off-topic in his own thread to start a smear campaign against a mod. (As I read it, Macross is attempting to justify hiding behind his mental problems by attempting to show that someone with a mental disorder should hide behind his problem as well--and someone who is vocally against hiding behind such disorders, at that. Of course, this analysis may have a fatal flaw in that it assumes a measure of rational behavior on Macross' part.)

I think "Impotent Creep" sums it up without making the "legal" definition of "Stalker" an issue. He's obviously creepy; and whether you want to consider his "impotence" to be sexual or social, well, that's the viewer's call.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Claiming a moderator is mentally unfit for his duties is a serious accusation which is the most rationale for us to approach procedurally. I'm in favour of his being forced to either prove it or get banned.

Allrighty then, time for me to shift gears.

I'm going to hold off on any polls unless there is a motion and a second on the floor to proceed. I agree with Mad that there doesn't seem to be all that much amassed against him (asidefrom the possible accusation against a mod) other than the "creepy" feeling he most definately gives off. If someone wants to level a specific charge and motion for a vote then I will post that but otherwise I'm throwing the brakes on this one.

Sorry guys, but while you don't seem to feel there is enough reason to dump him, I've had a serious personal beef with the way he's treating Asberger's Syndrome for some time. My latest post in his thread should make it clear why, and his latest exchange with the Duchess is the straw that broke the camel's back. So with apologies to the Senate, I am pulling rank on this one. This little twit is history unless he apologizes by the weekend.

There is nothing I could possibly support more wholeheartedly, Mike. Frankly, I don't really think he even merits the mercy of being given a chance to apologize.

What? You're subverting the power of the Senate? That will not stand! How will you keep the forums in line?!

Wow. Its amazing what can happen when you're gone. And to think he couldn't possibly have made things worse.

Oh well, good riddance. I'm all in favor of ending this without having to drag pointless bureacracy into it.

It's your board; it's only to be expected that you'll do what must be done, without hesitation nor mercy.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

I would say it makes no nevermind. As always we're the advisory body whenever there is uncertainty or discussion. Honestly if any of the admins want to dump somebody they should, we are here moreso, in my mind, for the cases which aren't so clear.

Actually, the way I've always understood it, the admins' ban powers are only for use for cases such as invasions, spammers (of the FREE \/1@gR@!!! variety), gross rule violators, and the like. The extra admin positions were created in the first place to give Mike more firepower during invasions. They can't ban just anyone summarily.

Mike, on the other hand, can ban anyone he pleases whenever he likes. :D

To be honest, if this poll were to be re-run after his recent run of trolling, I suspect the result would be quite different anyway.

This is the best banning we've had in years. I've been savouring every delicious minute.

You're right. I wanted to be lenient with the guy up to page 8 or 9 of that thread. I'd not even found him too offensive until he PMed your lordship about Nitram and Asperger's.

It was all downhill after that

Damn, I lost the pool. I thought for sure he'd grovel a bit.

Yeah, he got more and more irredeemable as he went along. How fucking deluded was he? He knew what the girl wanted, he knew we were all wrong, he knew that Nitram was a hopelessly deluded fool with a horrible life, and he knew that Mike's marriage was failing. How? HE KNEW. That's all you need to know.

Man, that was just sad. I was waiting for him to show some sign of redemption, or at least of covering his ass, but no, he went straight to attack mode to try and defend his pathetic life choices. Whatever, we all know what awaits him in the real world, and frankly, he needs it. If he's lucky, he'll wake up, but I think it's pretty obvious that lucky is not something we can really use to describe him at this point.
