You forgot about choice number four.

Turn herself, and the others in. Yeah, not exactly the best option for her, and the others, but it is the best option for the fleet which they claim to care about.

Each one of them represent a massive risk to the fleet, and it seems like they realize that, but don't want to accept it.

Didn't see this mentioned, but I liked the moment where Cally snagged a drag off of Cottle's cigarette.

You just chose #3.

The fleet finds out that the XO, President's Advisor, Chief Engineer of Flight Ops, and the leader of the 'resistance' on Caprica are all Cylons and have been from the start. People like Starbuck and Roslin are going to demand immediate execution, Adama will be faced with either siding with the president or Tigh.
Meanwhile, all trust in the military and government are utterly destroyed while you have a witch-hunt going on for the final cylon. Demands will be made (with valid reason) for Roslin to step down and Adama to release command. Basically, all hell is going to break loose and a lot of people are going to die before it's over.

I simply don't see how revealing that both the civilian and military leadership of the colonials have been infiltrated by the cylons at the highest level would do anything but destroy the fleet.

In addition, President Airlock will squish the union, thinking that it was just a Cylon plot, and undo all the changes that are preventing open rioting on the ships doing the crappy jobs.

With the revelation that Anders was a Cylon, the quarantine of everyone he brought with him is likely.

Whatshis face the angry guy is likely to break open the whole sanctioned summary executions issue.

And Cally, the poster child for straight jacket manufacturers, would probably end up trying to kill one or more of them yet again.

She might be able to go to Admiral Adama about it. But given his track record of keeping the adventures of Garbage Scow Demetrious off the books, it would probably just come out anyway.

To be fair, it would be kinda hard to hide the fact that a ship from the fleet just up and hypered out one day and never came back. More than just the Galactica crew are bound to notice and he can't exactly silence them all.

Well, not easily anyway.

At any rate, he seems to be doing pretty well with Athena, a known Cylon, serving in the Fleet. While there'd doubtless be some hysteria, they could always trot out Athena and demonstrate that just because they're Cylons doesn't mean they're out to Kill All Humans.

Yes, but its a tad different with the final five because
a)They will completely shatter any perceptions the humans have about the Cylons
b) Athena always put all her chips on the table. They knew who she was right from the start.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood

There are still countless times she wouldn't tell them everything unless it was her ass on the line as well. And then it was only enough to get her ass off the line. The only person that trusted her was Helo, and she wouldn't even tell him all her dirty little cylon secrets.

Well, as of the most recent show, I was wrong about there security being cameras.

Dunno if that would work. For all that the military has largely accepted Athena, Captain Kelly cheerfully tried to blow her up in "The Son that Rises." They can't keep her presence or her nature a secret but I'm sure they have her interact with civvies as little as possible.

Plus, the Four now know their natures and are quite deliberately hiding themselves. Tougher to make their case now.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.
