I watched the first 20 minutes or so on Scifi.com. It was mediocre. I hope the rest of the episode is better.

And suddenly... Nothing happened.

Oh yeah, except that Tigh is into S&M and might start getting it on with Six. For fuck's sake this is stupid. Further, between this and the Sharon-Cavil thing, I think Ron Moore's read too much Lolita.

Christ was the Tigh subplot stupid.

Jesus.

Frackshit.

The first Cylon models were obviously very flawed creations. They just hallucinate all the damn time. Tigh's lost it, Tyrol's lost it, Tori's a bitch, though not hallucinating yet.

I don't really have much to say on this episode except that it was fairly unimpressive. Baltar keeps his cult, President Airlock gets more fanatical about the freedoms she's willing to dish out, Tyrol lost his cool and shot his mouth off (a good thing, at this point), Tori continues to descend towards the Dark Side... A Battlestar Livejournal if I've ever seen one.

2. And I'm amazed that a Starbuck centered episode might actually be better next week.

Damn, maybe I should have saved the Quark gag for next week... :|

I thought it was pretty solid, honestly, so gave it a four. Not much in terms of excitement or resolution, but it definitely set up a bunch of stuff that'll probably play out pretty heavily later on.

Watching Baltar learn what rifle butts taste like was cool though. I wonder if any of his followers noticed how he looked like a marionette puppet when six dragged him to his feet.

I didn't hear the dialogue too well when Tyrol grabbed Tigh at the end of the funeral so can someone enlighten me what the frak was going on? The only thing I think about it is that he suspected one of them of killing Cally.

I was a bit dishearten when there was the possibility that Racetrack died. Thankfully she didn't and her coming out of it unscathed makes the Raptor one tough son of a bitch. The damn thing's bow hit the deck, the dorsal side was sliding across it as well, it was in flames, and yet the crew are walking about like nothing happen.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Yeah, I think I need to eventually see that part again. It looked as if the entire cockpit got crushed upon first viewing. I was SURE both of them had bought it. I'm not sure how they got out of that unscathed.

Happily, one didn't have to wait long to get rid of that silly "Tyrol told Adama he's a toaster" theory. Honestly Gil, I don't know what possessed you...

Watching the reply on SciFi now.

So they do have cameras, as I wondered about in last week's episode discussion. Perhaps they made an appearance in episodes some time ago. If so, I've forgotten.

Waiting with interest about how or where the baby was "found."

All this has come before, and will happen again.

Am I the only one who caught the Mithras reference and its significance?

For that matter, am I imagining things, or are they deliberately trying to make Roslin physically resemble Cain more, to go with the adoption of more of her philosophy?

Also, yay, administrative punishment! And Tyrol owning up to his feelings for Boomer.

4/5 because of the details, and shit having consequences.

It looked as if the entire cockpit got crushed upon first viewing.
I saw that scene twice, and it's definitely a case of VFX fucking up. My stomach lurched when I thought Racetrack was dead, but somehow it was even worse that she was un-dead despite the Raptor hitting the deck cockpit-first, having that whole area crushed, and then bursting into flames like a car in an action movie. Moreover, the damage on the prop is not extensive enough to reflect the damage inflicted on the model. One of the rare failures of the show's VFX IMO.

Cameo alert: Redwing makes his first appearence since "Exodus" (just a random Viper pilot with a few lines in both eps, surprised they brought him back...you know they have NEVER stuck the tattooed guy in a Viper before?), and I couldn't tell for sure due to my crappy TV but the Marine lieutenant who shows up with Lee in one scene looked a lot like Season 2's Corporal Venner.

Anyway, I'm waffling on whether this is a high 3 or a low 4. Lots of bits I liked, but Tigh's plotline was especially overdone. I liked Tyrol in this ep, though, he's really cracking...a side of him we haven't seen. Hope he doesn't hurt Nicky. (And his one speech is sure to delight the Cally-haters...)

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

Not really impressed this week. Loved the Tyrol vs. Adama bit, though.

I was suprised at how much Baltar's epiphiny moved me. I really believe now that head six is an angel of the 13th lord of kobol
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

Are you thinking of the scene where Baltar is preaching and he sees Head Six in the crowd? I thought that was Boomer next to her for a sec also but it was Tory.

I did love the scenes with Baltar getting the shit kicked out of him and Head Six "lifitng" him up. His groupies were probably thinking "god's lifting him up!" and the Marines were probably thinking he's fucking bat-shit.

When Racetrack's Raptor went out of control my first reaction was "Not again!" as this happened late last season and she and Skulls punched out. Can we avoid this for the rest of the season now?

So, how many beatings do you think till Six starts suspecting Tigh is one of the final five?

I was kind of glad Tyrol threw the "you threatened to shoot Cally" thing from season 3 at Adama. Since Tyrol isn't the Deck Chief anymore, perhaps we'll see Laird, Pegasus' drafted Deck Chief again?

It was okay. More recovery from last week's kick to the balls. I was disappointed there was no Cylon Civil War action.

Whew Tyrol is not taking this well.

Also, Baltar getting the shit knocked out of him is always good for a laugh.. though I am supremely creeped out by how much influence he's gaining over this lot of people (apparently by telling them exactly what they want to hear).

Rosalyn letting him know she's getting less and less inclined to put up with his bullshit was creepy in its own way though.

Pretty soon they're just going to stop giving Racetrack Raptors. She lost the one in Dirty Hands, had a bomb go off in another in The Son Also Rises and now this. I think she's got the O'Neill Curse.
