Crom, who had tripped and had recieved a slight concussion, was beginning to retain awareness.

"Eh? Wha?"

He noticed the rugged man and his hostage.

"Oooh"

He surveyed his options. The situation appeared to be fairly under control, but from the looks of things it wasn't going to resolve itself in any decent amount of time. And he wanted to get inside and possibly eat something. On the other hand, he did have a hostage.

He stood in between Darien, Ajax, Eli and the stranger.

"Ok, from the looks of it, bullets won't solve this situation in any smooth manner. So..."

He quickly turned around, rushed towards the man, and began to swing his brass knuckles.

Scar, who had until this point remained seated inside the helicopter, absentmindedly tracing a strange pattern that had been marked into his arm, appeared in the hatch at the top of the ramp. Surveying the situation he watched Crom begin his headlong rush, and took the chance to draw his blade and charge the enforcer's unprotected back.

Mercurius cursed with a proficency that revealed his hive-born origins as he pulled his laspistol from its side holster and carefully advanced in from the side, in stark contrast to the near-reckless haste of Scar and Crom.

Snarling and dropping his shotgun -- firing into a melee is always risky, but firing a shotgun into a melee fight isn't really a good idea unless you don't care who you hit -- Darien lunges not towards the enforcer but towards the hostage, trying to knock her out of the line of fire with a tackle, if for no other reason than to give the people with more 'selective' weapons a better shot at the traitor.

The Proctor seemed astonished, but not as astonished as the renegade Enforcer was to feel a blade slice down the straps of his flak armoured back; fortunately for him, it wasn’t a particularly sophisticated blade, and he turned, his hostage letting out a loud, piercing shriek and throwing herself out of Crom’s way as the Enforcer turned, grabbing at the hilt of Scar's blade but missing, letting his gun drop onto a shoulder strap, leaving him unprotected as he attempted to seize the larger feral worlder…

With a lunge Scar threw a hooking punch (stun attack) at the man's unprotected face, and screamed a fierce battlecry. "For Tygress! For the Emperor! For Dorn!" he shouted.

"Sonofawhore..." Ajax mutters under his breath, starting to run forewards himself. His fellow 'witch-hunters' seem to have the area immediately around the goddamned idiot and his prey somewhat occupied with bodies and blades and the like, so the black-coated man settles for covering the melee from close range with his pistol levelled, waiting for a shot at something non-vital.

"I'd like a few words with him, so try to not hit anything too quickly fatal, hmm?"

(( Continuing with my original plan of getting the hostage out of the line of fire. Sure, she's expendable, but the Emperor Protects and there's no point in getting her killed if it isn't necessary. Darien has quick draw so he should be able to shove the woman out of the fight and pull his club, I'd think ))

Reaching the melee and grabbing the hostage with the intent of pushing her out of the fight, Darien yanks his riot baton off of his belt in preparation to making a serious effort to beat some sense into the dumb bastard who'd try to take a hostage in front of a team of witch hunters.

Well since this was turning into a close combat frenzy, Eli simply braced in a double hand stance, taking slow careful aim, and waiting for an opertunity and a good clear shot. They will want this armsman alive for questioning, ok Eli thought, lowering his aim a bit, one kneecap comming up in a bit.

Now close enough to the brawl to reach out and touch the combatants, Mercurius holstered his pistol and drew his Mechanicus staff, taking advantage of the leverage to bring the cogwheel icon at its tip in a sweeping arc that would terminate on the renegade enforcer's backside.

By his estimation, the flak armor would take enough of the impact for the blow to be merely stunning, rather than break any bones.

After taking a fraction of a second to secure the brass knuckles in his grip, Crom attempted to take a swipe at the odd fellow.

Eli looked in disgust as more people joined into the Melee. Holstering his pistol, and attending to the former hostage. "Well I'll do no good right there. (my Melee skill + strength is pitifully low besides there appears to be enough of a gangpile)"

Now while Eli despised cowardly deserters, a lack of a clean shot or a blunt object put him at a disadvantage in this case. until he remembered a stunt he recalled the gaol keepers preforming against his band of neckcutters. Eli, then unloaded his shotgun and proceeded to try and club the cornered rat into submission.

The wounded man was again hit by Scar, as a solid hit from Darien’s truncheon caught him in the chest, he staggered forwards in a daze, heedless of the others attacking him. The former-hostage, meanwhile, had the good sense to fleet a little further as soon as she’d composed herself.

Darien takes advantage of his opponent's condition and very deliberately swings his club not at his opponent's flak-armored chest but at the most convenient knee, hoping to end the fight quickly while keeping the man able to talk. Very few people, according to his instructors, would continue resisting with a shattered knee. Or try to escape.

This particular subject is rather tough, but still goes down in a heap when he's rapped behind the knee with a rather hefty baton...

With a snarl Scar grabbed the fallen man's weapon and tossed it aside. He then dropped his knee in the center of the man's back and wrenched both arms behind him, holding his wrists together.

"Something to tie him up with, quickly."

Mithras lowered his aim, and turned to face the Proctor. "It appears you have a breach in security, Proctor LaHare. Do you know who this man is?"
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Pausing a moment, Darien grabs up the rifle and strips the sling loose, then kneels and loops the sling around the prisoner's wrists, binding him tightly. Rolling him half-over, he yanks the enforcer's belt loose as well before flipping him onto his face and wrapping the belt around the man's upper arms and pulling it tight enough to earn a grunt of pain.

Reaching down, Darien tugs first on the upper-arm bindings then on the man's wrists, making sure the wrappings are tight before nodding to Scar in satisfaction.

Yanking the prisoner's helmet off and slapping him lightly on the back of the head, Darien warns him, "Push your luck, asshole, and instead of tying you up we'll just break both your arms and legs then drag you anywhere we want you to go. By your wrists."

As the renegade enforcer groaned, LaHare frowned with an aristocratic look of distaste and disdain towards the wretch before offering Darien a pair of heavy manacles, "Yes. Trooper Ghant. I half expected to find some traitor here... Clearly he saw you and decided this idiocy was his last chance to escape. Please, come this way, I can give you more details that might inform your investigations, but first, we'll see the helicopter off if you don't mind. You can tell it to circle if you like, the wind's not bad today..."

Darien takes the manacles then looks over at his own "field expedient" bindings, then shrugs. Oh well, he thought to himself, I suppose we can hope the Proctor was impressed with my quick thinking rather than writing me off as an idiot because I didn't just ask to play with someone else's toys.

Fastening the manacles securely on the prisoner's wrists, Darien strips off the belt and sling bindings, handing the items as well as the prisoner's gun to the enforcer who had 'donated' the manacles.

Having committed a possible faux pas through his quick-and-dirty prisoner management technique, Darien decided to let one of the other members of the warband take the lead in dealing with the Proctor, instead concentrating on keeping a profesionally blank expression while inwardly wondering at the mindset that said watching a helicopter take off was more important than securing a prisoner and briefing a squad of witch hunters about the reason they had been hired on.

Bloody fool thinks we'll want to stay and watch the helicopter take off and look pretty while he has a bunch of psykers running around loose and apparently traitors in his organization. No wonder things are going wrong, he can't prioritize -- and his enforcers aren't much better, standing there staring while we handled their former comrade.

I appologize for holding back brethren. I didn't have a clear shot, and my muscles are used to wieghtlessness, and things such as pilotting. I probably was more of a hindrance then a help back there.

At least I'm an expert shot if you ever need someone ventillated...

You don't suppose you saw where that lass went? She might be grateful enough to some of us for the help as to give us some information, that might help us with our investigation.

Time to amp up the Witch-hunter menace, Ajax reflects silently to himself, letting a tight smile occupy his lips, but holding the rest of his face frostily still to deter any thoughts that he's actually amused. He is, but that's not the point.

"I think that my...associates and I could do with some time alone with the prisoner. Very alone. Do you think you could accomodate that, Proctor?" His shoulders shrug, his smile growing slightly more at-ease, "It's possible that it's unrelated heresy, but...well, we'd best ascertain that for certain, hmm?"

With a vicious cuff to the back of the traitor's head, Scar released him to the other's custody. He wiped the sweat from his hands, and pulled his sleeves up to the elbow, revealing a twising pattern of scars and woad. Glaring at the Proctor, Scar crossed his arms.

"You can't even trust your own guard? Apparently the rogues have a long grasp. You had best hope, Proctor, that he leads us somewhere. Somewhere away from you. The cleansing fires of the Emperor's justice shall have no mercy upon the heretics. Now shall we continue upon our tour?"
