I'm in.

I'm pretty sure we can pick wherever to be "our" base. Although I would suggest that smaller island to the east. We can just infiltrate from the sea, since most of the cities are relatively close to the coast.

um... no we can't. They control the island, remember? We have to base all our equipment off the island, at least initially. This first mission is just a recon, so we need to get onto the island, look around, and leave again.

As for our PMC, how about a name something like "Peace of Mind"? We could be a UK-based group that offers VIP protection, escort services, military training/advising, and of course, terrorist "interaction". We mainly hire from UK, French, German, and American ex-military personnel, but there's room for all who qualify.

As for this first mission, I could see it going two ways. We could come from the south end of the island, make contact with the farmer, then the doctor and the mayor guy. Find out what they know. Or, we could come from the north, check out the internment camp and the airport, and document what's going on there.

Either way, for our first assault, we're going to need to take out that satellite uplink. The Ubuntan forces will be receiving orders and passing along intel through that, so we need to take away their contact with higher command. Sounds like a job for cruise missiles!

Could I get the map and assorted mission objectives? I've been a bit preoccuipied with my Let's Play but I'll finish my character sometime today and I'll send it in for approval.

Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot and haven't checked my email in a while.

I meant after we'd scouted out some suitable location, not full of hostile troops. But I see what you are saying.

Right.

Sure.

I say we ask to go aboard the sub and infiltrate by sea, at night, to the farmer's residence. The least detectable way of going in and probably the farmer would have some good intel. That's coming from the south.

If we go for the mayor, I'd recommend against coming in from the south, because we'll have to travel across half the island getting to him. Since we don't know how active the Ubantus are in patrolling or if there are any roadblocks, it might not be such a hot idea. Of course, that's depending on what the farmer has to tell us.

Either way, both La Trinite and the farmer's residence are appox. ten klicks away from water, so if we have to extract in a real hurry, getting away shouldn't be too much of a hassle (assuming we have a boat).

Yeah, that uplink has got to go. Although cruise missiles might be a little overt for our employer's taste...?

As far as the PMC's background goes, I kind of like the idea that it has been formed specifically for this operation, and it is something of a front for the British/American Government's/BP. As in the main members were aproached by MI6, the Foriegn Ministry, or whomever and told to assemble an outfit. Even more directly, perhaps we are a "Bussiness" the same way Air America was.

As far as the name goes, I am horrible with them, so I leave that to everyone else's judgement. I'll comment on the plans once I get a chance to look over the materials, which should happen some time this weekend.

Can I recommend moving a lot of this future discussion to the e-mail? You know, something that the OpFor player doesn't have easy access to?

You assume that this isn't all part of a dastardly plan to mislead Shep, and get him to bias his forces even though he's not supposed to.

Hello, I have looked at the information and sent our my initial thoughts via e-mail, I hope everyone got it. The only adition I have to make to that at the moment is that we should acquire some man portable SAM's as well as the other hardware I suggested.

The best time to run the game for me would be Sunday EST. IS that even possible for our Australian host?

Edit: Evenings EST would probably also work for me most nights.

Weekends are not so great for me.

Any weeknight aside from Tuesday is good.

Edit: pretty much all the damn time. Next week, not so much since I'll be visiting my girlfriend, but after that I should be free for the next few weeks again.

Oh, I suppose what times everyone could play would be useful as well. I can usually do weekday evenings and most of the day on weekends.

Just talked with our illustrious GM, and he said that Saturday morning works well for him in Australia. That's Friday afternoon/evening in the US. I can do that time.

I should be able to handle that as well, unless I seriously get late at work.
