Re: Target Practice!
I honestly do need the practise, i'm that bad i'm sorry to say
An Imperial Star Destroyer uses turbo-lasers. It has been said on Star Trek explicitly that lasers do nothing to Federation shields.
Turbolasers do not demonstrate the qualities of lasers, so they are not lasers.
The Enterprise is more maneuverable, has regenerative shields and (probably) ablative hull armor.
Enterprise probably is more maneuvarable, but this is nothing when measured against the power of ISD weapons (which are around the Megaton mark I think) . Regenerative shields?, ablative hull armour?, hmmmm treknobabble me thinks!
Plus, phasers have a better firing arc than turbolasers (Imperial gunners couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, where as the Enterprise rarely misses, even without Worf) and Quantum torpedoes are far more powerful than proton torpedoes or concussion missiles.
Weapon layout on an ISD is excellent, just about every approach is covered. Pho-torp and conc-missle output is around 190 megatons, feddie warheads are around 64 megatons
The Enterprise has point-defense phasers capable of hitting a TIE fighter, and because they have no shields, one hit would destroy them.
1 dead TIE will not win the Ent the battle, it still has the ISD to deal with
Also, the Enterprise has transporters, all they would have to do is punch a hole in the SD's shields and then start beaming torpedoes into the Imperial's engine room.
Ent would have to fire for quite a while to breach an ISD's shields. Also, the feds would not know were the ISD's engine room is.
My debating skills being what they are ( practically none existant), its no small wonder I haven't posted much on the STvsSW forum. I'd really appriciate it if someone checked me for errors etc. thanks

Try gigaton range, otherwise, not bad.
Hold on, let me practice some high grade trekkie stupidity
1: The Federation can build any number of ships it needs, because they have replicators that can build anything.
2: Star Trek ships have cloaking devices that let them see, so they will be able to sneak up behind Star Destroyers and destroy them while their shields are down.
3: The Organians would step in and stop any fighting if the Federation was losing anyway.
4: We know from the sonic blast that the original Ent easily took that Federation ships can survive impacts greater than the DS superlaser on their bare hull
5: They can also destroy a planet's surface more efficiently, 20 ships with less total hull volume than 2 star destroyers could destroy a planet faster than the supposed BDZ could just kill a planet's population.

You still need supplies to both provide power and materials for the replicater. Provide proof that they can do this. Also, the Dominion outnumbered the federation. Care to explain why?consequences wrote:Try gigaton range, otherwise, not bad.

Star Wars already has cloaking technology, and have ways to detect it. And before you mention it, he was a mere ISD captin. Yo think a random captin is going to be let in on Top Secret technologies?2: Star Trek ships have cloaking devices that let them see, so they will be able to sneak up behind Star Destroyers and destroy them while their shields are down.
Why would they do this?3: The Organians would step in and stop any fighting if the Federation was losing anyway.
Sound doesn't travel in space.4: We know from the sonic blast that the original Ent easily took that Federation ships can survive impacts greater than the DS superlaser on their bare hull
Please prove that the visuals back up this statement.5: They can also destroy a planet's surface more efficiently, 20 ships with less total hull volume than 2 star destroyers could destroy a planet faster than the supposed BDZ could just kill a planet's population.
How did I do?

Not bad Singuler Quartet, now its my go!
1) You don't think it would just be the Feddies versus the Empire do you?, you know the klingons and romulans would form an alliance with the feds to fight the Empire.
2) I reckon that the blast from one Transphasic torpedo would take out atleast 12 ISD's
3) You think AT-AT's and AT-ST's are great do you well how do you explain that AT-ST being smashed by those two tree trunks in ROTJ. And how do you explain the AT-AT's on Hoth not being able to snap the tow cables of snowspeeders.
4) You think stormtroopers are some kind of elite commandoes or something right?, well how do you explain them getting battered by the ewoks?
5) If it even came to a ground war the feds could just beam all the stormies into space.
Destroy at your leisure!

Umm, that means a balst radius of at least 4km.2) I reckon that the blast from one Transphasic torpedo would take out atleast 12 ISD's
AT-STs are SCOUT vehicles. They're not heavy armor. And do you know how much KE a redwood log has when dropped from several stories up? As for the AT-ATs, what does that say about the strength of tow cables?3) You think AT-AT's and AT-ST's are great do you well how do you explain that AT-ST being smashed by those two tree trunks in ROTJ. How did the Viet Cong batter the US troops in Vietnam? Homefield advantage, and overconfidence on the part of the outsiders. Plus, in teh ROTJ novel, the stormies were doing extremely well, until Chewie captured an AT-ST.4) You think stormtroopers are some kind of elite commandoes or something right?, well how do you explain them getting battered by the ewoks?
How? And why? Beaming them into space isn't nice, and we all know how PC TNG-era UFP is.5) If it even came to a ground war the feds could just beam all the stormies into space.

Yeah, I've E-mailed DW a couple times pointing that out, but it's not in the episode summary. Comes from episode #42, "Q Who?"EmperorMing wrote:Umm, are there not other episodes where lasers have been a threat to Feddie ships instead of the one reference from the Outrageous Okana?
Such as the Borg for instance?

The Organian thing was thrown in because they stopped a big destructive war before, not because they had any real chance of getting involved, just trying to think like a trekkie and pull stuff out of my ass.
As a half-assed continuation of the replicator bit: we know they can convert matter to energy with traansporters, it would simply be a matter of keeping the replicator fed to provide it with energy, and there are plenty of uninhabited planets around.
