I think I'll take the slowdown as well. Another question though, I will take one LUN Ekranoplans as my Fast transport, but how much do the A-90s cost. I am looking to build up a merchant fleet that's too fast to be hit by raiders, and these Soviet Aircraft look like the best thing the doctor could have ordered.
Wilkes. On second thought, I need the Cylde. It looks much cheaper than the destroyer, and is smaller, but still can defeat 100% of the pirate fleets. Any MESS Members got choppers that I can attach to this, or does the Reds have any Mi. These need to be able to deal with water, as this will be a Coastal Defense Force Addition.
OOC Note, Stas, why not build that prototype Beriev Be-2500 Neptun. You have the money, and it seems like the biggest way to have an ultra heavy fast (so to say) transport.

I have the 48 HH-60J Jayhawks in my inventory. I can sell some of my current ones to you, or I can build you some new ones. I can produce about 6 per month for you at a cost of $6M each. I will sell the ones currently in my inventory for $4M Each.Redleader34 wrote:I think I'll take the slowdown as well. Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Bell-Sikorsky builds MH-60Rs for naval use. Has the capability to be armed, unlike the HH-60J Jayhawks. Costs significantly more though. Alternatively, we can rebuild HH-60Js into MH-60R configuration, for a smaller sum. Last configuration is the MH-60S, which has a greater transport capacity, but loses the anti-submarine capability. HH-60Js cannot be rebuilt into MH-60Ss. MH-60S are new build only.
If you want a pure attack helicopter, other MESS members sell AH-1Zs, which are perfect for the marine attack role. However, you lose a lot of the capability available from a transport helo, and it's therefore disrecommended.
There's also the option of UAVs. Northray is developing the MQ-8B Fire Scout. It's capable of being armed, and is significantly smaller than a manned helicopter. It has little transport capacity to speak of, however. It should be ready real soon now.

You can buy the Jayhawks from Deathdealer, some UH-1Ys from Bell Helicopter(the LSR Corporation, not the Tian Xia one), or another smallish-medium size copter(something like the Fennec).
Bear in mind that these vessels do not have a hanger, but for the purposes of your country that more than meet your needs(don't expect any long distance deployments with them though, I wouldn't expect them for your country even if you had much larger ships, due to operating costs.)
The Clydes come in at about $50mil a pop. Since I already have a pair underconstruction, I would ask Wilkens since he has much larger yard capacity and could deliver them sooner.

I can easily produce other variants of the H-60 helicopter. The MH-60R Seahawk also runs at about $6M per copy. Converting from the Blackhawk to the Seahawk costs about the same as converting to the Jayhawk.

On an unrelated note, I have no idea whether I'll be around Sunday to attend this conference. Or for that matter if we'll have wrapped up the MESS summit by then (man this is one long summit...we'll probably retcon it somehow). If not, I'll have my Foreign Minister attend.

I'm curious as to the asking prices for the A-90 Orlyonok and the KM. Also, could the STRIZH-1 be equipped for combat duty if the need arises?

This sunday will see a serious of announcements, two are meant to be clear, don't fuck with the UKB's space industry. One huge advantage I have is the fact that there is roughly 770 Billion dollars worth of investment in the space program over the past three years. Next year I'll pass the one trillion dollar mark.
You literately can not complete with that kind of economic backing as a single Imperium or below. That's what happens when six countries band together and invest healthy chunks of money in a single area.

The MESS has significant investment into spaceflight as well, and everyone can still make technical mistakes, you know. I still think your satellite communications system is ridiculously over-engineered and over-complex.Mr Bean wrote:You literately can not complete with that kind of economic backing as a single Imperium or below. Satellites in LEO or low MEO have a shelf life of a single decade max. Load enough fuel on them and make them as multi-functional as possible and you get something that's highly useful for the next fifty years.phongn wrote: The MESS has significant investment into spaceflight as well, and everyone can still make technical mistakes, you know. Not to mention unlike most Old Earth Satellites, UKB satellites are designed with de-orbiting in mind to prevent cluttering of orbits with debris that pose such a threat to current manned missions.

All 6 Burke-class tin cans have now been sold. The nation awarded the sale is freeto announce as they please.
I still have 5 Tico's on the sale block and those will go for a bit more. Again these are stripped of weapons, comm gear, sensitive equipment, etc but do come with a full tank o' gas.
Also my OOB in the reference thread has been updated to reflect the sale of the Burke's. Anyone wishin to place an order for the Clyde's or Legends please let me know as I have something on the order to 50-60k DWT worth of spare building capacity for '09 and quite a lot more in 2010 after I free up the dock which is building HIS WHORE Elisha Cuthbert (CVN-46).

In addition to naval expansion, I'm also looking for additional toys for the Army and Marine Corps to play with. A bunch of questions:
- Ground vehicles: How much do M1097 Avengers and M1117 Guardians cost? Also, do any nations have M2 Bradleys and M6 Linebackers or equivalents thereof, either in storage or on offer for new production? (Seeing as all of my ground kit is NATO-standard, I'd like to keep any IFVs I acquire within that standard if at all possible.)
- Helicopters: How much does it cost to rebuild an AH-1W SuperCobra to AH-1Z Viper standard, compared to the price of a new-build Viper? Alternately, does anyone have surplus SuperCobras lying around?

Following the Dust up from the most recent action, the Bear Republic, will be trying to replace the GEVs "Fast and Manuverable, Shoot them get the fuck out because our hulls are made out of Plastic which while it can stand up to small arms, anything above .50 cal is bad news" design with one that can survive more punishment. However the new project is running into lots of overruns and problems.
Chiefly the Bear Republic has no one who is used to designing a real armoured vehicle. Tanks don't exist in the BR's military, so trying to create a Tank that floats on a cushion of air is a bit hard for them.
Note that the GEV redesign is actually two years old, since the first incident where the first production model GEV collided with a submarine at high speeds resulting in the loss of the whole GEV crew, and we're still not sure where the sub finally sank or if it made it to safety of some other port. or who sent the sub into our closed testing area. However Since the series was already into production and other expenses were underway it was decided not to change the design of the GEVs due to the Bear Republic's Finanical problems.
