Archaic, how did you post in Japanese? I've made a few attempts at using CJK characters over the past few months, but they all came out as garbage regardless of the encoding used (UNICODE, UTF-8, EUC-J, JIS, SJIS, etc.). I had concluded that the board simply didn't like non-ASCII characters, but that's obviously not the case.

I see a lot of question marks, then QUT, and then more question marks.

どうぞよろしく。

I'm just using the Japanese IME that any Win98 or higher computer w/ IE 5 or higher supports (Though you'll only be able to use it with IE of course). It's just a download directly from Windows update. You may need to download Japanese text display support before you're allowed to download the IME though.

EDIT: As far as I know, the encoding is EUC or Shift-JIS. Though the fact that I type them directly into the browser as the characters and not code might have something to do with it.

You can post 日本語のテクスト by using a browser capable of handling it. Opera can show them, but as far as I know cannot post them. Mozilla can do both, which is why I switched over to Mozilla in the first place.

You just need to get the characters in the first place, and the browser does the rest. I use a Japanese word processor to produce them.

The coding for the characters looks like this: &-26085 &-26412 with the - replaced by #.
