Who would you vote for if it were McCain Vs. a DNC Pick

So the final part of this three part poll and it's slightly more complicated:

So June comes and there's no clear winner in the Democratic Primary. So Howard Dean, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton enter a locked and smoke filled room (it's obligatory.) Ten hours, a crate of Vodka and a coin flip later they come out and they announce the democratic pick for the election. Having decided that their campaign has been too divisive the leadership of the Democratic Party has come across a compromise candidate who everyone, it is thought, can rally behind. I'll leave it to your mind who it is, but some rules: It can't be someone who was in the primary race (So no John Edwards), it can't be someone who's from one of the extreme wings of the party (so Lieberman and Sharpton are out), and it has to be someone who is popular and well known (I.E. Al Gore.)

Who do you vote for?

The DNC pick, assuming they don't completely lose their wits and ask for someone who obviously couldn't win. I care more about getting democrats who will pass democratic policies in office than about whether my favorite candidate wins.

The DNC pick, provided that he or she wasn't someone I detest like Chuck Schumer or Barbara Boxer.

Someone like ex VA governor Warner would be a good choice.

So it can't be Hillary or Barack? Or a tandem? I mean honestly, if it did come to that, do you really think the DNC is going to dump a woman and a black guy in favor of some white guy no one voted for at all? Talk about voter disillusionment. No way.
They would somehow work out a deal where either Hillary is the choice with Barack as the VP or a promise that Barack WILL get the nomination when Hillary is done. Or the other way around. (I think it would go the first way because Clinton is older and more qualified, and it would give the younger Barack time to strengthen himself for his next run.)

I'm not saying it's likely, I'm saying it's possible. Imagine the support Al Gore would get right now with well established credentials and ties to the Clinton legacy. It's a third option in the upcoming race and it could happen. Possibly.

If the DNC pick is good and the Obama/Clinton issue has melted down into a smoking crater then I'll probably go with the DNC pick.

I think I'd go with the DNC pick. Especially if I get to imagine that it's Gore.

DNC pick, with the some caveats. There are certain ones I could not rally behind but most are a damn better choice than Bush-II/Weathervane McCain.
