No, not yet, but I am building a ship for you, the one you asked for (Pr. 775 BDK).

I can also transfer some the frigates into your nation's harbors for storage/conservation, and this means if they are ultimately decomissioned, some will remain for you to use. But that would require you being in the OMSK.
DarthShady wrote:PeZook do you think it's reasonable that my GDP increased by 10% in the past two years(5% a year)?
Maybe. You suffered some war devastation from the declaration of war against Shroom, he actually wiped your infrastructure a bit if I recall correctly, as well as some of your Navy harbors.
CmdrWilkens wrote:They are the largest BioTech company in Wilkonia which should, if I'm reading the declarations correct, be the largest such industry in our little world.
Hmm... how large is your medical company's production? In tonnes of meds? My rough estimate would be around 6 million, with 3 million tonnes of various additives and components, and 3 million medicines, of them 1 million penicillins probably, if your main market is the MESS. Since you are not alone, I presume Mangka holds around 30% of the supply and thus produces around 3 million tons of medicines, including 1 million ton pennicilins.

You're a giant, indeed, but to supply such a gigantic union, it takes more than just one supplier.

I'd also say Black Sormovo is worthy to be there. It's huge, and rapidly gaining billions worth of orders. Maybe Antonov. Tupolev and Ilyushin are still rising only.

Again, Standard Economist's Response No.1: Depends.

Without any analysis of your investments, savings, money supply, imports, exports and about a thousand other things...I'll say yes, because I don't bother with all that either :P

Generally speaking, if you're a small underdeveloped country, have reasonable economic policies, trade and have an industry or two of note and still have technology to implement, you can easily get 5-6% of growth a year (Poland has 6%, and we are still pretty far from "reasonable" policies :D )

If you have a first-world living standard, though, the growth will be slower, around 2-3% unless a new technology appears or massive investment (say, by government) overhauls an industry or infrastructure.

There are many factors in economic growth, but technology and infrastructure seems to be the greatest one: witness the Industrial Revolution, a staple example of technology affecting growth.

Oh, and a final note of basic mathematics: Two years of 5% growth do not equal 10% growth after two years :D

EDIT: Ah, yeah. I forgot you got bombed by Shroom :D

If your infrastructure suffered, then you will get a period of pretty small growth untill you rebuild it. It depends on what exactly got bombed, though.

Man i totally forgot about that ship. :D When can i expect it to be complete?

I am already a member of FUN, but i would gladly join the OMSK if you guys will have me.

He did. But i have had three years to rebuild.

Well, yeah. When your industries are destroyed, after a crisis, you can show high growth rates (like the US after great depression) due to restoration of industrial power. However, when it comes "back to normal" growth slows down for a developd nation.

EDIT: your ship will take a year.

That's quite an achievement seeing as we've just entered the third year :P

Anyway, you certainly won't have 5% steady growth for two years if you got bombed along the way.

So it is possible? Maybe i should make it a 3%, to be more realistic.

Of the cuff, seeing how Shroom was actually pretty restained in his campaign, I would say you could get about 2% growth for the first year, and then possibly as high as 6% for the second, after you joined the FUN and got a boost from tourism and ISCA. Do you have an industry of note? You'd need one to achieve 6% growth.

What about investment? You get your shipyards filles to capacity year after year thanks to ISCA, do you invest in anything? If you don't and just let things run their own course, then I'd say (take note - this is just an off the cuff estimate, it's not binding or even professional) you can get 5%-5.5% for the last year.

I have investment into tourism(the beach resorts :D ), and i planed to expand my shipyards so i could build more ships for ISCA and some for my self.

Well, then put down 6% for the last years.

Oh, and BTW - check the ISCA spreadsheet. I'm sure you'll like it :D

Awright, people - ISCA vote time!

PM or post, throw your vote for or against the new FY2010 budget. We need to approve it pronto, so that we can start building ships again!

ISCA shipyard workers are itching to contribute to the world's prosperity! (And their own fat paychecks)

Well, since PeZook is pointing out economics.... :D

Canissia will be glad to build cargo ships for the ISCA, also, remember that Canissia is big on robotics and automation, so we won't be a charity case in helping to build the automation aspects of the ship. We also put Canissian automated defense turrets on thew ships for anti-boarding defense. Right now these are machineguns that go through a "shoot/no-shoot" option controlled at the bridge. However, we're looking at either augmenting or replacing these with Pain Beams and possibly a TROPHY-style anti-RPG system (non-lethal defenses for lower insurance costs).

Do we consider Zablania to be a naval gunnery range for all nations, coordinated through Atlantis?

Worth considering at the big meeting.

Zablania is a charred wasteland nuclear waste dump, quite probably contaminated by toxins and possibly radioactive.

Maybe people could designate practice ranges on their own nations' shores?

Zablania hasn't yet been turned into a waste dump.

I am thinking of making it an international military staging point. Also a big base for FUN naval ops, particularly anti-piracy patrols.

ISCA: I approve the 2010 budget.
Conversion Table:

2000 Mockingbirds = 2 Kilomockingbirds
Basic Unit of Laryngitis = 1 Hoarsepower
453.6 Graham Crackers = 1 Pound Cake
1 Kilogram of Falling Figs - 1 Fig Newton
Time Between Slipping on a Banana Peel and Smacking the Pavement = 1 Bananosecond
Half of a Large Intestine = 1 Semicolon

It is a ruined wasteland however, it was war-torn to begin with, add in the grid-by grid fire-bombing by Shepnukstain, then the target of opportunity bombing by MOAB and FOAB equipped UKB forces, followed/with Arch-Light massive conventional bombing campaigns by Tian Xian.

Add in the fact that I intend to use it at the start of next year as a nice place to put a buch of targets for my own battle-damage assessment, I don't think using it as a military base is a smart idea

You know, you gotta ask FUN's permission for that. Zablania is a FUN nation

Perhaps we turn Zablania into a big-arse military exercise ground? Those urban ruins would make excellent urban warfare training zones...

Zalbania is not a FUN Nation unless you annexed it, and most of the surviving Zalbania's took shelter in Pezookia and the UKB, It was a Fugal Union nation, but that Union is no more, unless you want to claim you polled surviving Zalbania's and asked them (Which I would know about mostly being in my nation) if they wanted to join FUN. Except the UKB would content that such a poll is meaningless as no one from the official government survived the robot-massacre.

Who did survive
One Zalbania Company of Engineers(43 rescued) Helio'd out and granted asylum in the UKB
One hundred odd civilians who had taken shelter with said Engineer company, Helio'd out and granted asylum in the UKB
One crew of a TV station and their Dependants (65) Helio'd out and granted asylum in the UKB
Two hundred odd civilians who fled by boat or crude craft to nearby islands where Pezookia scooped them up due to it's immigrant polices

So there's no FUN involved

Hmm this brings up a point as technicly both Pezook and I have a right to claim exclusive rights to Zalbania on behalf of the citizens who we've taken in.

We've not done so because we both agreed as do most of the member nations who went in agreed that Zalbania would become and international dumping ground, it's worthless anyway except as a testing ground.
