Final Cylon theories (Possible Spoilers)
OK, a quarter of the way through last season, who are your top 3 picks as the final Cylon? (I know this thread has been done multiple times, but we are in the last season where it will be revealed.) I also want to get my hair brain theories out if they happen to be right and claim I knew it!
My choices:
President Richard Adar- He has been through the show "in spirit" from the beginning and Roslin has swore by him basing much of her policies on his. It could deliver the dramatic twist needed. It would make sense why Xena fell to her knees and apologized. (The Cylons destroyed a civilization they already had control of, and possibly their own "plan") Plus it follows all the clues Moore has dropped in interviews. (Known in season one, the last cylon is not in the Last Super shot, ect... ect...) It also shows even a greater betrayal than Baltar.
Tom Zarack- Pretty much for the same reasons I think Adar is the last cylon, but a lighter version. He could have been tortured on New Caprica. (Hence the apology) He has always been in power positions, curving events. The only thing that keeps me saying no, is that he is an obvious choice.
Head Six- I hope Moore does not do this, but I would not put it past him. The last Cylon is a biological program, maybe transmitted by virus. Kinda li9ke the whole thing from terminator III "Skynet is the internet" I hope this is not the case, but it would solve a lot of questions. It could be a real old program that has kept itself alive and is in some sort of self preservation loop, "All this happened before, all this will happen again." It could also explain the need for cylons to go organic so it could infect them ect.. ect...

Dualla or Gaeta. Both because they've had multiple opportunities to be the one. I suspect Dualla, as the name apparently means '12' or something (from a previous SDN BSG discussion), how every Cylon's been linked to a non-cylon character very specifically (Tyrol to Cally, Tigh to Adama, Tori to Roslyn, and Anders to Thrace.)
Gaeta's been around conveniently a hell of a lot of times.

Part of me thinks that it's going to be Baltar, and that HeadSix is there to help him follow his path.

IICC, we know six male and five female models of cylons. So the unknown Nr.12 should be female.
The optimist thinks, that we live in the best of all possible worlds and the pessimist is afraid, that this is true.

I take it Starbuck would just be too easy, then? Or did we rule her out at some point?

Zarak or Gaeta. Gaeta's been a suspected Cylon for a long ass time, and it's practically tradition by this point. Zarak would be the most obvious and fun choice because of the mild irony. None of the major characters really fit the bill.
Most retarded option? Cally. At this point, I wouldn't put it past Moore to suddenly have her show up as the final Cylon, but I'm hoping not.

I'm really, really worried it's going to be Starbuck.

I think they're all Cylons.
After the final act of the finale they all stop, staning dead still like statues, and then the original Starbuck and Apollo appear and the latter compliments the former on his Cylon-slave populated "dramatization" of their voyage to Earth, but Starbuck says he thinks it would have been better if Apollo had made "Girl Starbuck" hotter.
Battlestar Galactica: the Movie debuts on the casino ship of the fleet, to rave reviews and a growing fandom. Though Tigh is a little sore about being made a White guy and a drunk...but he's lame so he'll get over it. He's a nice guy but a little stiff, he'll get the joke eventually.

I also thought about an ending in which everyone was a Cylon, except it had all been a huge wire crossing on the part of the Cylons, and the rest of the fleet gets to earth without the Galactica.
This, of course, came up in the same conversation as the ending in which the galactica made it to eatch with the Cylons hot on their heels, warning earth as the arrive, only for earth to shut off the cylons as simple as opening your garage door.
There was also the idea that no one would be allowed to remain dead in the final episodes, with everyone dying and being replaced with another version of themselves left and right.

My likely candidate...
Dualla
Of the Final Five thus revealed, 3 are male, 1 is female. Cylons seem to have a tendency to have a mix of male/female models in close to an even parity. So a 3 male 2 female ratio would seem more likely.
She also follows the pattern of tragic/bad relationships that plague the rest of the final five, Billy's death and the breakup with Lee.
She is also a top candidate because she is absent in the Last Supper photo.
Something else to consider is the 'Music' that activated the Final Five (4?). Dualla had the means and the expertise to use the comm equipment to transmit a signal that only the Final Five could hear.
When I think of a secret mastermind behind the Final Five, I can think of no better position than Dualla. She at the central hub of the information flow on the Galactica, and so the fleet as well...everything from Adama's orders to the fleet to idle chatter over 'wireless'. She is considered like a daughter to the Admiral, even married to Lee for a time. You will find her at the very heart of the fleet, hearing and touching everything....yet completely transparent.

Okay, on the topic of Earth itself: who wants to see what? Populated? Unpopulated? Modern(2008) era, ancient past, or far future(post-mankind)?
Because the thing that I don't want, but fear will be the case, is them getting to an unpopulated planet to discover no-one ever lived there.

I guess I would be a little bit "meh" about Dualla being the cylon i jsut never really cared about the ccharacter. Tigh and tyrol as Cylons really surprised me. Didn't care about Tory and Zander well it was yet another strategy to make an awkward character have some meaning.
Now did D'anna or whatever her name was say "Oh My nGod I'm So Sorry" TO the final cylon? Because she really could have been apologizing to Tigh for torturing the crap out of him and taking his eye.
If Admiral caine came back it would be a pretty awesome WTF moment, but she hasn't been around since season one. I like the idea of Roslin being a cylon, at that point adama would pretty much kill himself.
Earth will be advanced I think, because when Starbucks ship blew up someone either got her physically out of it or had the abilitty to seize a human consciousness and transfer it. They also had the ability to build a viper from scratch. They might have implanted a memory in starbuck, but iff they didn't they also had the ability tto take her TO earth and bring her to a nebula that was days of jumping away from where she was lost.
"All this has happened before and all of this will happen again" also suggests there may be previous generations of artifical lifeorms created by humans. Whether they originated on earth, kobol or a previous incarnation of the 12 colonies Galactica could find a bizarre situation on earth. They might even find out some strange twist involving who the lords Of Kobol are, and personally i'd be annoyed if they did. if they find out the fricking gods they've worshiped are robots then iw ant to see plenty of time spent digesting that information.
I'm still expecting patrick Duffy to stick his head out of a shower and say "Honey? I just had the strangest dream", either that or we will pan out from earth the galactica the fleet the galaxy and then the universe and all of it will be on the nose of a dog or something. A CYLON dog.

I have been thinking about this too (and it probably deserves its own thread, no?) but what I don't want to see is an ancient past or unpopulated. Nor do I think that is likely (see below). Though I suspect there won't be a lot of post-arrival to Earth story-telling, I want some interaction with the locals.tim31 wrote:Okay, on the topic of Earth itself: who wants to see what? Populated? Also, remember the song Tyrol, Tigh and the others heard. It's a real, historical composition, as far as Earth goes. "All Along The Watchtower" seems to cement destination Earth as being in at least the late 1960s. Dylan wrote the song in 1967.
Let's not forget the glimpse we saw of Earth at the end of the last season (FF to about 4:05). The Florida peninsula was visible. Unfortunately, it was also in sunlight, so we couldn't see any lights that would have been seen at night...

Moore has repeatedly stated that in the show that song is Colonial. In story it is absolutely unrelated to Hendrix or Earth. It did not come from Earth, and is not a clue as to what Earth will be like.FSTargetDrone wrote:Also, remember the song Tyrol, Tigh and the others heard. That's like if i had a scene in Lord of the Rings where they listen to "I'm Already There" by Rascal Flats and say, "Oh no, it's not MODERN, it's a contemporary Middle-Earth folk song! Elves wrote it!"

I really doubt it would be Starbuck. The humanoid Cylons already know she has some sort of "Special Destiny", it'd be a bit silly if they knew about that but had somehow missed that she was one of them.Alan Bolte wrote:I take it Starbuck would just be too easy, then? [/size][/i]I don't think it is. Your ME example is far more absurd because - you know - it's a Medieval-type-fantasy-place. The version of that song in nBSG isn't nearly so out of place. nBSG is basically the modern day but with SPACESHIPS anyway.18-Till-I-Die wrote: That's retarded.
