Geata and Dulla seem very anti-climatic, and I just do not see it as good story telling. Dr. Cottle could work, but it is hard for me to see.

On the topic of Dualla, she is one of my least favorite characters. "Anti-clamatic" is right on. I don't need to see her have a bigger importance in the overall story. Pass on that.

Sadly, the odds of them actually doing that are close to zero though.

I can't say I know the reasons behind Dirk Benedict's animosity towards Moore, but heck, Richard Hatch was not a fan of a re-imagined series, and now he acts on the show (as one of my favorite characters, by the way).

I could see a Dirk Benedict final Cylon character killing Starbuck in the finale. Why not? Get him on board, I say!

To be fair, Braga didn't start out a monster. He grew into the role.

Just as nBSG didn't start out as a crappy soap opera, but grew into one.

Frankly, I'm really hoping that the end of the series ties off all the loose ends and, good or bad, demonstrates that there actually was a plan from the beginning. I really really want this series to end well, and then maybe I won't feel so used after wasting 2 and a half seasons on it.

The B5tech people are arguing that nBSG is performing worse than the original series.

10 of 1000s, in comparison to 29-65 million weekly viewers TOS had is laughable, and it has been a totaly ratings disaster for SciFi Channel. GHOSTHUNTERS and reruns of ENTERPRISE have been getting better ratings than GINO, which is a lot more costly to produce. After the dust is settled, the few people that remember GINO, will remember as a cheap imitation. How much of a mark can show make, that is watched by so few, anyways?

Yes, I monitored that board briefly when nBSG was hitting its stride. They rarely find any good in it.

oBSG isn't exactly remembered beyond fanboys of the old series and the occasional sci-fi-centric person who knows about it. I suspect that nBSG will do about the same, but certainly not less. I could be wrong, but I think nBSG will likely be remembered more definitively, for better or worse, as Battlestar Galactica.

As a college student, I find youth who are into it sometimes who aren't typified as sci-fi geeks. Then again, I find people who know and like Firefly as well. And perhaps one of the reasons why nBSG is appreciated among the young is because of its "naturalistic science fiction" nature, which at its worse is "soap opera in space."

RDM hoped to have Dirk Benedict appear in the season 1 finale. During Baltar's fantasy/dillusion/whatever of the opera house on Kobol he'd find Dirk Benedict who would say something to the effect of "Hi. I'm God." Cut to black.

This was according to the commentary on the season 1 DVD for "Kobol's Last Gleaming." Immediate geek reactions aside, I'm glad this didn't happen as it sounds kinda stupid, and like nobody had a clue where it would go, or why it would be done.

Yeah, I read at Battlestar Wiki that everyone else working on nBSG thought it was stupid, too.
