Internet stupidity strikes again

Allecto was so close to making actual sense in her third anti-Whedon rant that composing a response was actually rather difficult.

I find it quite telling she is only allowing people who agree with her to comment.

Now, children. Can you guess what's wrong with this picture?MAL (cont’d)
Well, that is odd.
SAFFRON
What?
MAL
I just don’t - I’m not one talks about his past. And here you got me…
SAFFRON
Does your crew never show interest in your life?
MAL
No, they’re, they’re… They just know me well enough to… What about
you? What’s your history?
SAFFRON
Not much to say. Life like yours, I fear you’d find mine terrible dull.
MAL
Oh, I long for a little dullness. Truth to say, this whole trip is getting to be just a little too interesting.
Touching stuff here. Mal beginning to see Saffron’s resources as an emotionally supportive slave as an addition to her exquisite domestic skills. What makes me even more annoyed about this scene is the fact that Mal, as always, does all the talking, leaving Saffron’s potentially interesting history unexplored. This is typical of stories written by misogynists. They are not interested in women’s stories; women are only there to further understanding of the male characters.

Shhh, Zablorg! Pointing out that she's ignoring the intent of Mal's line to try and support her point is anti-feminist!
This latest review proves she's going from the episode scripts, not the episodes, given that in the scene about Mal and Saffron's fight in the house she writes "She pushes him, they go tumbling to the floor but he’s still on top and this time he’s got his gun to her chin. (In the show he holds the gun to her head rather than her chin)."
If she had watched the episode in the first place, making such a distinction wouldn't have occurred to her.
Also, her version of feminist really is 'Beats up men'. I'd add 'whether they deserve it or not', but in her worldview, they all deserve it.

these articles made me feel physically ill. I wanted to throw up, and when I didn't want to throw up I was so blinded by fury i nearly crushed my friends computer. her writing could actually set back the feminist and gay movements. I wasn't just disgusted with the horrific ignorance but more to the point terrified that she actually had some support. I'm Bi and proud, I've had a deep meaningful relationship with a black woman, and during that entire time I was happy, I'm a loud obnoxious white male and I'm proud. this woman has spat on things I hold dear, she's spitting on me.
I honestly hope she's going to send a note soon saying "haha I totally got you guys!"
but hope is merely the denial of reality. especially in this case

If you think Allecto's bad, check out Questioning Transgender Politics +http://www.questioningtransgender.org/+ whose author is supposedly feminist (and heck even if they aren't their bullshit is taken as truth by the "radfem" community).

I got an impression from reading some of the crap on that site, of nothing more than "GTFO out of our femininity! It's ours! You can't have it! Stupid wannabe MEN!"
Ceci n'est pas une signature.
Oh how I wish I could say that site was parody. Your assesment is entirely accurate.Molyneux wrote: You...you have got to be fucking kidding me.

Ghetto edit:
For a refreshingly funny (if quite long) deconstruction of the moronic "radfem" bullshit, read this article on Cuntensquirten.

Yes folks, post-menopausal women, women who've had hysterectomies, ALL are men apparently, no eggs, no womb, no humanity folks, do not pass go, do not collect your personhood.Sex has to do with reproduction, Einstein. I’d call men that imagine they are part of the sex that produces eggs and young about as delusional as it gets.
Trans boys identify with a patriarchal construct, which is in and of itself, sick and delusional. Not the female sex. Gosh, what a big surprise for males to be in love with their own constructs! Not!
which is perfect quote with regard to the evopsych nature of it all because look; a so called feminist being unable to tell the difference between sex and gender!
Oh but they don't know what "gender is a patriarchal construct" means either so no harm really.

My favorite part is that the author of that website is apparently completely unfamiliar with the <title> tag.Ohma wrote:If you think Allecto's bad, check out Questioning Transgender Politics +http://www.questioningtransgender.org/+ whose author is supposedly feminist (and heck even if they aren't their bullshit is taken as truth by the "radfem" community).

I rather like this one, quite a good sense of humor on (I assume, her, given the hints )Ohma wrote:Ghetto edit:

Half way through and it's already made this thread worth while.

Sorry, I am usually more eloquent, but "radical feminists" bring out the worst in me. Substitute the word "Jew" for "man" and the rantings are basically fit for Der Stürmer, requiring only slight editing.

As I said in my own article, if she just argued that Joss Whedon wasn't the feminist he's reputed to be, she'd have a valid and respectable opinion. Unfortunately she has to wrap it in so much insanity that she loses all credibility.Darth Hoth wrote:More sick shit, basically.Ted C wrote:Allecto was so close to making actual sense in her third anti-Whedon rant that composing a response was actually rather difficult.

I would not agree with that, either, given the general approach to women and homosexuals in his series. Still, I read the short text you linked to on your blog, and I completely agree that it is a vast improvement indeed; at least that authoress uses arguments that do not provide material for a diagnosis of clinical insanity in every other sentence. "Allecto", on the other hand, is eerily reminescent of a "gender researcher" I met once...Ted C wrote:As I said in my own article, if she just argued that Joss Whedon wasn't the feminist he's reputed to be, she'd have a valid and respectable opinion.
