What's "the secret of the Opera House"?

Anyway, I liked this episode. I don't know why their Centurion freaked out on them though. Why didn't they tell it what they were doing and why?

I can see that as just old habits. Since when do you need to tell a Centurion anything? They didn't seem to show a lot of remorse, either, even though the Centurions now are sentient.

Probably the Opera house that was on Kobol. While on Kobol, he had a delusion of walking around an Opera House (he was actually among its ruins). This is where he "meets" the first half-breed baby in a craddle whom Six says is "our child".

The Opera House starts appearing again in season 3 during Number 3's multiple suicides when she sees it "between" death and resurrection only now with the Final Five.

There's gotta be something to it because at the end of season 3 Caprica Six, Athena, Hera and Roslin all had a dream about being in the Opera House.

Out of curiosity, how long would a wound (assuming it was properly dressed) take to drift into Sepsis and Gangrene?
I don't know what kind of medical care they gave him, but definitely less than 12 hours. They could've at least put him out or given him booze.

First five of the season.

I can't believe no one has yet mentioned the scene with the Sixs, Barolay, and Anders. Despite a bit of minor annoyance (Barolay's coming on this mission? Must be a redshirt.) I was frankly amazed at Helfer's performance. That whole scene absolutely gave me goosebumps.

I *did* think those "stars" looked like baseships, so kudos for some effective foreshadowing. Was that gas planet really Jupiter, though? Did the whole Cylon brawl take place in Earth's system without even knowing it? (Didn't someone say the constellations were right for our region of space?)

Not much else I can say that hasn't been said. I'm really looking forward to the dyamic likely to develop between the Colonials and the rebel Cylons. It was also nice to hear a reference to the Cylons' "plan" and how it seems to have flown out the window. There was also a nice visual reference to the season 1 ep with Boomer on the basestar, though to me it really highlighted how much they've changed the design of the ship since that season.

I guess the reason for the last few episodes' relative lameness was because they were preoccupied with setting up this one. I am a bit irked that they didn't mention previously that they had a Raptor aboard Demetrius, because that was the solution several of us came up with last week...however, I was mostly satisfied when they brought up the fuel issue (and better yet, how that actually became a plot point).

Also, as much as I was in hetero-love with Anders in this episode, he'd better suffer some consequences for shooting Gaeta. I liked him in the military but it's hard to believe he wouldn't get kicked out for that at the least.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

See Lee's testimony on the stand. "bla bla bla, FORGIVEN!" As long as Starbuck is even proven half right, or that they get something out of this, his little incident will be swept under the rug like everything else.

You know, I could have sworn either last week or the week before they DID mention having a Raptor aboard for extended patrols. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I distinctly remember some kind of mention of one.

Wait. How long have the Cylons been around? The thirteenth tribe should have happened long ago. Not like fifty to seventy years from the 12 Colonies, which is when Caprica is to take place and when the first Cylons first came around.

Unless the 12 Colonies didn't exactly develop the Cylons.

^ I'll bet anything that was a "Final Five" moment. Although one expects Andres can easily rationalize it thanks to his love for Starbuck (he already referred to them as mutineers).

The five from Earth are the Final Five; they were with the human colonies and helped develop the new Cylons, giving them programming not to think about them.

The Lords of Kobol were part of the same group as the Cylon god, he/she/it broke away from them, possibly in the same cataclysm that forced humanity off that world and later started his own religion among the rebellious, exiled new Cylons.

Humanity is originally from Earth, they went to Kobol, and when everyone left a group of them returned there. It's very likely the Lords of Kobol (whatever they are) went back with them.

Who knows. Perhaps the Twelve Colonies were spurred to develop the original chrome toasters by various incarnations of the Final (Original?) Five. And then somewhere along the line the Five put it into the heads of the chrome toasters to want to aspire to the Human form and give rise to the Cylon models we know and love.

^ The only thing that bugs me about that is...Caprica Six not only knew of the Final Five, but she told Baltar about them. "There are twelve models." If the Five are that far removed from the Seven, why do the Seven even know that the Five exist?

It could be crappy writing, but I have a feeling they are a bit more closely linked than that, such that the Seven must necessarily know of the Five's existence while seeing fit to delete most information about them.

I'm waiting for someone to transcribe what the Hybrid was saying beforehand. Some of her ranting was basic repair cycles, but the rest had moments where it seemed like she was answering Starbuck or Natalie.

AAARGH!

Sure it was better than the previous eps (not hard) but how much "lol! No repercussions!" shit was in there?

1) Anders shooting Gaeta and then having everyone seem to forget about the incident and trust him implicitly again.
2) The shooting of the Centurion (what, was that the last fucking Centurion aboard? Did none of the others object to the hybrid being shut down or the Centurion killed)
3) Fucking Starbuck being right. AGAIN.

I give it a 3, simply for moving the plot forward a bit, but it had too much writers fiat to justify anything higher.

One thing she said a bunch of times was "The children of the reborn will find their own country," or something along those lines.

Thus will it come to pass: the dying leader will know the truth of the Opera House; the missing three will give you the five, who have come from the Home of the thirteenth. You are the harbinger of death, Kara Thrace. You will lead them all to their end. End of line.

The obstinate toy soldier becomes pliant
The city devours the land, the people devour the city...
Intruders swarm like flame, like the whirlwind; Hopes soaring and to slaughter all the best against our hulls/house
All these things at once and many more, not because it wishes harm, because it likes violent vibrations to change constantly.
You are a spark of God's Fire.
The children of the one reborn shall find their own country
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

Most of what the Hybrids have said so far has been transcribed on Battlestar Wiki.

The room they were in when Kara went to "talk" to the Hybrid, that wasn't the bridge, was it? Isn't the Hybrid tank on the bridge?

As far as I can remember, without checking every episode on a Basestar, the hybrid tank has never been on the bridge. Baltar was on the bridge shortly into his time with the Cylons, but the hybrid reveal came at a later time, in a distinctly different room.

Personally I'm still talking about this "god" with inverted commas. I'm not quite sure what some of you chaps expect from this show that has had this rivalry of beliefs central from the start. It seems pretty obvious that there's something real behind it, the only question is what is it. All the religious trappings of the hints we have to it doesn't mean it's genuinely an omnipotent Jehova in the sky.

It strikes me as being an artificial "god". I'd put good money on the end result not being a simple "Christianity is real, lol" ending.
