Got a question on Alexander. I've had him acquiring arms through completely illegal arms smugglers. Is that alright? Also what about his warning to the Sultan's people about the bases in the North of his territory I've written, and his and ProTec's response to the refugee crisis?
Think of Alexander as a Patriot, not a a country but to his people. He does not give two shits about anyone not under his control. He's also ruthless, see his old fashion methods of punishing those that break his laws(Whipping/Forced labor for thieves& looters, Death for murder's, ect)
He's a man in a bad position as I write him. In his childhood he lost his parents to a bandit attack. Forced out on his own he joins a Liberaltopia Merc Company and in a few years time, sick of how they "defend" people not to different from himself by extorting them. He gets a few of his own people and starts his own company and does good by them.
Things get around, here's a honest cop, so he gets more clients, more money coming in means more people he can hire, more people he can hire, more people he can protect.
His reputation brings in the business, the profits bring in the new soliders, the new soldiers lets him expand his operations and his reputation grows. His Iron commitment to his own form of Justice ensures his reputation remains solid with his people.
Outside of his people you only see the ruthless man who everyone pays protection money. Inside you see a man who's in charge of a near 100,000 man Army that's well know for it's honest dealings and more importantly
staying bought, if you hire them to defend you, rest assured if they decided to rob you instead, that unit is going to be hunted down by Alexander and made and example of.
That's how I wrote him, he's going to defend the people, not for money, the money's only useful for buying better weapons and bringing on more soldiers. Not for the fame, except where it makes it easier to get the right kind of people signing on, not for the glory, fuck the glory. No it's because he's fighting an endless war against what he views as evil.
Who knows maybe he thinks being a specific religion or ethnicity is evil, who knows? Within his own code, he's utterly dependable, but if you fall under the "evil" heading he's not going to deal with you.
Unless he has to, man can't get this far without being pragmatic.
