You're about right on the aircraft, but we have nowhere near 100 ships. Since anyone who wants to take the time can figure out about what we've deployed, it's safe to say the number of ships is around 50 of various types. Nothing smaller than a Burke DDG though (unless you count subs and Lonestar's UNREP ships).

If there are Halifax FFGs running around down there, they're not part of our OPs.

HA! I'm away for two days and all this happens. I think ALexander is not going to like the Sultan's men setting up bases in his territory at all. ProTec has taken its strike aircraft out, but survielence planes will detect these incursions. ANy idea on what Alexander would do with refugees? I'm thinking he'll kick them out if he has the option, he has enough problems. Though MAybe ProTec would be able to convince Alexander to let refugee's into camps where international aid workers can get to them. And it would appear the pirates in Libertopia are getting more militant, with their own warlord even.

If it wasn't blatantly obvious when I named my chief executive Lelouch Lamperouge, most of my government officials are taken directly from Code Geass, albeit with various changes (the most significant being that Schneizel, Cornelia, Clovis, and Euphie had all their surnames changed to "Lamperouge" for simplicity). Also, the pilots of the 1st Training Squadron are all shameless expies of their respective personages in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. In addition, there's the namesake and founder of the Duchy.

Concerning place names, in one of my posts, I hinted towards a rebellion that resulted in Lelouch being installed on the throne; Fenette AFB was explicitly stated as being renamed as such in honor of one of Lelouch's friends, and the same applies to other place names within the Duchy of Langley. A cookie to the person who can identify all the shout-outs.
I ship Eino Ilmari Juutilainen x Lydia V. Litvyak.

For all we know, the "Admiral of Libertia" is some nutjob with a small band of followers. He might be a bigger pirate or just a small timer looking for some glory.

As to Alexander and what he'd do, I don't know. Stas (specifically, his SO) is RPing Ramsley and Yenchin is RPing the Sultan. Who's RPing Alexander?

Technically I'm playing Alexander for International Relations, Speaking of which he's forting up and keeping his head down, oh and getting his hand on every single AA weapon he can find, even WWII era Bofors are being pulled out of storage, better than nothing.

Next up, teaching small boys to down Helo's via rocks and slingshots.

*Edit ProTec handles internal Alexander acting
Speaking of which I have to hand it to him hiring the only international merc company on his side. If your as hard up as he is with someone like Saddamastain looking your way, even Blackwater looks attractive.

Got a question on Alexander. I've had him acquiring arms through completely illegal arms smugglers. Is that alright? Also what about his warning to the Sultan's people about the bases in the North of his territory I've written, and his and ProTec's response to the refugee crisis?

Edit: something else of interest for players is Indhopal is taking bids for companies or states who wish to do a comprehensice mineral survey in the country.

Think of Alexander as a Patriot, not a a country but to his people. He does not give two shits about anyone not under his control. He's also ruthless, see his old fashion methods of punishing those that break his laws(Whipping/Forced labor for thieves& looters, Death for murder's, ect)

He's a man in a bad position as I write him. In his childhood he lost his parents to a bandit attack. Forced out on his own he joins a Liberaltopia Merc Company and in a few years time, sick of how they "defend" people not to different from himself by extorting them. He gets a few of his own people and starts his own company and does good by them.

Things get around, here's a honest cop, so he gets more clients, more money coming in means more people he can hire, more people he can hire, more people he can protect.

His reputation brings in the business, the profits bring in the new soliders, the new soldiers lets him expand his operations and his reputation grows. His Iron commitment to his own form of Justice ensures his reputation remains solid with his people.

Outside of his people you only see the ruthless man who everyone pays protection money. Inside you see a man who's in charge of a near 100,000 man Army that's well know for it's honest dealings and more importantly staying bought, if you hire them to defend you, rest assured if they decided to rob you instead, that unit is going to be hunted down by Alexander and made and example of.

That's how I wrote him, he's going to defend the people, not for money, the money's only useful for buying better weapons and bringing on more soldiers. Not for the fame, except where it makes it easier to get the right kind of people signing on, not for the glory, fuck the glory. No it's because he's fighting an endless war against what he views as evil.

Who knows maybe he thinks being a specific religion or ethnicity is evil, who knows? Within his own code, he's utterly dependable, but if you fall under the "evil" heading he's not going to deal with you.

Unless he has to, man can't get this far without being pragmatic.

Thanks for the bio. It will help quite a lot when I write about ProTec's dealings with him. ProTec's people can probably get along quite well with the General's, unless we end up having disagreements about what to do with outsiders. I wonder also, does he hate ProTec for being outsiders with perhaps limited loyalty, or just consider us proffesional contractors similiar to him? That is a question buzzing through ProTec's employee's head's I'll wager.

Quick note:He does not in any way view himself as a businessman, the closest thing he views himself as might be a Crusader, of the ye-old time biblical kind who fought evil. I've not written in his religion but most likely it's not defined considering his upbringing. What religion are fourth generation miners after all?

The fact he hired you at all means you fall into the limited grey zone of "willing to work with" If you betray him, it's likely your security people will either be killed atonce, or taken hostage for further non-interference. If he feels that your trying to cheat him, or something else that would violate his code then who can say?

A good example: If ProTec were to pull some Blackwater shit, IE shoot up a bunch of civilians and laugh it off, minimum he would arrest everyone involved, and load all other ProTec Merc's on a plane with only the clothing on their back.

And yes it goes without saying he won't trust you, and not until Protec is battle tested, until your men die along side and for his, he's going to be keeping a sharp eye on your people.

To clarify, the Sultan is preparing to go guerilla, the last thing he'd do is set an obvious base for everyone to see and bomb. The troops "blending" in is not trying to start anything immediately, but mix in as much as they can. This is one of the backup plans if the Sultanate is totally occupied by Saddam's forces.

The current focus is still on defending the Sultanate (In game he has no clue on what's Saddam preparing). There is no point doing something obvious inciting the neighbors while having problems myself.

It should be noted that My men do not operate in a Blackwater fashion. I made sure they are accountable, as they are beholden to all laws of Indhopal while on contract, and if they are up to no good, they will be charged in court. That said, I am certainly no stranger to controversy; the whole point of chosing security contracting was to make it so I could be involved more heavily in world affairs than a tiny nation normally would be.

Well, i doubt we've spotted all his bases in the territory ,and dislodging them should be interesting (as interesting as dislodging NVA troops in airmobile search and destroy operations.). ProTec has been doing border patrols with fairly advanced prop driven survielence aircaft, so they are likely to have spotted troop movements, if not the actual base locations. Maybe some of those rugged survivalists who live in the mountains spotted troop movements as well?

Canissia has two Ticonderogas in the Terra Libertia area, well outside of conflict areas, and three Burkes and 5 Pegusus 'foils in the Central Sea. That's all we have out. By now our other three Ticos have returned.

We have not deployed any Halifaxes yet, and we won't have our first Anuket for another few weeks.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Damn it I hate when I post in the wrong thread:

basically Tulka's order are descendants of both the Thuggee and the Assassins. Like 47's order in Hitman, they kill for money, but they don't kill innocents. They believe that Kali only wants the souls of the damned, and that killing bad people is the only thing that keeps the queen of daemons from comming to this world.

Not at all. I was just commenting on my lack of effort is all. Lonestar named his ships, too. :)

Ah, sorry folks, forgot about Mothers Day  We don't have it so I kinda snapped.

I support the 6-month MDF proposal, and blockading Libertia to, well, protect it from attack. Since Bean and Fingolfin also do, it means it's in effect.

Well, ships can't claim airspace! :? They are not territory after all.

As a side note, I deployed my Navy at full strength to the Central Sea. Right now one group will probably cruise in the Central Sea, while another will proceed to Libertia.
Lì ci sono chiese, macerie, moschee e questure, lì frontiere, prezzi inaccessibile e freddure
Lì paludi, minacce, cecchini coi fucili, documenti, file notturne e clandestini
Qui incontri, lotte, passi sincronizzati, colori, capannelli non autorizzati,
Uccelli migratori, reti, informazioni, piazze di Tutti i like pazze di passioni...

...La tranquillità è importante ma la libertà è tutto!

Wasn't saying they were. He wanted to know where are ships were and I have him a general idea. His LANDSAT-8 happens to be just about overflying them.

And if you really want to help, send some ships to the west of the Shinra Republic and north of Saddamistan to reinforce the ABM shield. As it is we have six carrier groups around Libertia. So it's rather crowded at the moment.
